    Do you guys ever get tired of the "He'll cool off" prediction? Seems like you've been saying it all year about Ortiz and Papelbon without much success. EDIT: Jeter's having a stellar season, arguably more valuable than Ortiz', but he won't win it with those numbers. Don't worry though, I'M SURE HE'LL COOL OFF.

    The experiment failed in '03 because they lacked a true relief ace. Papelbon is, without doubt, a relief ace, so perhaps they could try using him in high-lev spots that happen before the 8th inning. That said, nobody has been consistent enough to make me feel confident about the end of the game if he is used earlier.

    He was a big part. Having the bottom half of the lineup go 0-13 with a GIDP was just as important. Actually, throw Youk in there too. Spots 5-9 went 0-17.

    Hindsight Statement: Should have sold high on Hansen. Nothing to back it up other than what I see, but he may not have the head for this gig. Nothing about him says confident, not now, not ever.

Sucks carrying two injuries on the 25-man roster, because that means we have to watch Gabe bat against a righty. Thanks Camp.

    Oh, and while watching this gem of a ballgame, I get to listen to Dewayne Staats, who looks like a poodle. Right now he's carrying on about how Carl Crawford his just as many hits by the age of 25 as Ted Williams. How do you put those two in the same sentence?

    Well Hollins has a shamrock shoved right up his ass doesn't he? If this team loses to the floudering D-Rays, on a day that the Yankees lost, and with JJ going tomorrow, then I'll be pretty pissed. They need to sack up and gut this one out.

    Boomer didn't get hit especially hard until the was deep into that inning. If his D didn't let him down, he's out of that inning without a run. EDIT: Typo made that sound a little dirty.
