  1. Dude, don't walk this chucker to face Jeter with the sacks full.
  2. Captain Obvious isn't a style, it's an affliction.
  3. Yeah, it doesn't help the joke when you point out the obvious innuendo.
  4. I think they should start fining the umps when they grandstand with the call. That's the only way to take the "Look at me" factor out of them doing their job.
  5. Here's comes the overthrown cookie, right down the pike to Jeter.
  6. I wasn't paying that much attention, so I missed the give to Philly in the snippet. Either way, it's not a move I think helps them that much.

  8. That's because it's my fault for stating it that way. They, like Pettitte, were key contributors for multiple championships, if you go back to Cincy, O'Neill was a key contributor to just as many championships as Pettitte. None of them belong in the HOF though.
  9. They were middle of the order bats. I'd say those types are every bit as important to your success as your top 2 or 3 SP.
  10. Robert Horry agrees. Think he'll make it to Springfield, MA?
  11. Pretty much all of my dad's side of the family live in the Greensboro, Thomasville, High Point area of North Carolina. Seriously, I think my grandparents (and their kids, my dad and his brothers) were the only group that left the area. As is commonly reported, college basketball is pretty big in NC. As I reached my fandom coming of age in the mid-80's, I liked the upstart Duke teams. Grandpa was Tarheel blue through and through, dad like Valvano at NC State. Those were the three factions in the family. Then, some of the bigger name regional stars from Northern VA went on to play at Duke. I used to go to Red Jenkins' basketball camp at WT Woodson High School, and Tommy Amaker was my coach one year. I was in a younger bracket, but I played in the same AAU organization as Grant Hill, got to watch him play in AAU and then when he was at South Lakes High School. As far as my level of passion, I don't really get too upset when any of the teams I root for lose. Therefore, it's easy for me to transition into actually wanting the opposition to win in a special set of circumstances.
  12. Couple of big "ifs" here, but here goes.... I'm a Duke fan, and if Butler can hold on, and if Duke beats WVU, you know, this whole idea of Butler winning it all is so appealing I might actually root against my team.
  13. Not these, these will come true... Beckett will struggle at some point, and Jacko will suggest injury. The first good offensive thing from the Yankees will bring an, "atta baby", whatever the f*** that means. Drew will leave someone on, which will elicit at least one "Nancy" or something equivalent. If Manny Delcarmen pitches in the game, the Sox will lose.
  14. Depends on their bullpen. On paper, I'd say it won't be good enough to keep them in the hunt. But if the shamrocks fly from their arses the way they did in '08, a good BP should keep that rotation and lineup in play.
