  1. Yep their season is looking bleak because of the 5th spot Ill say it again, the Sox won the division in 2007 with Julian Tavarez as the 5th starter
  2. oops to nesn then because they did have up on the screen, wakefield going up against sonnanstine
  3. Opening Series, per nesn Beckett vs Shields Lester vs Kazmir Matsuzaka vs Garza Wakefield vs Sonnanstine
  4. Sox combine for 3 HRs so far in the 3rd inning vs Francisco Liriano. 3 run jack by Rocco, 2 run by Papi, and 2 run by Bay. Like last season, Tito still has Lowell in front of Bay. I just dont get that
  5. Where did I say I was ecstatic about Ambres?? I was just giving an update on the current game
  6. Its just a ST game but Chip Ambres hit a 3 run walkoff HR against the Cards
  7. Delcarmen, because of how the Sox used the process, is a super-two player. He made his debut in 2005, yet he's still under contract for the next 4 seasons
  8. Wilkerson just had to hit for a respectful avg and he wouldve had the job. But its .128 with little over a week to go...
  9. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090324&content_id=4062294&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb&partnerId=rss_mlb I agree with rotoworld. The bigger shock might be that that 20 year old is married to a 43 year old woman
  10. In terms of power... Cora and Casey combined for 0 HRs. It was a godsend if Casey got a double. Jeff Bailey/Chris Carter/Mark Kotsay will give much more offensively. Cora's offensive, especially defensive skills have been declining. Lowrie/Lugo, huge upgrade It remains to be seen about Kott's defense, but can he give more than Cash's 3 HRs/15 RBIs close to mendoza avg, I think so
  11. Plain and simple, the bench will be a huge upgrade from last years which was ranked as one of the worst in baseball Opening Day 2007- Kevin Cash, Sean Casey, Alex Cora, Coco Crisp (only bright spot really) Opening Day 2008- George Kottaras, Chris Carter/Jeff Bailey, Rocco Baldelli, utility infielder looks like Nick Green has an advantage over Angel Chavez/Ivan Ochoa until Lugo comes back
  12. Not Drew replacement but he's making it hard for the Sox to choose Wilkerson over him for the vacant bench spot
  13. It is the 5th time they will have faced It helps a whole lot with Japan and Korea teams playing together for 2 months, rather US playing with each other for 2/3 weeks
  14. If players are coming off injuries or are committed to big contracts, I dont blame them for being wary about playing intense games in early March
  15. Good move by Chicago
  16. holy hell, did the madame use to be a mister? Or still in the process of becoming a woman?
  17. And the beat goes on! Just heard on sportscententer, that a-rod has been linked to a madame that runs a prositution ring
  18. Haha the AL West it seems is the easiest to predict
  19. wow 2 hour 40 minute rain delay for a spring training game
  20. Something fun me and my friends like to do at work. Whoever is closest gets whatever we have in our pool AL East Red Sox Yankees (Wild Card) Rays Orioles Blue Jays AL Central Guardians Twins Royals White Sox Tigers AL West Angels Athletics Rangers Mariners ---------------------------------------------------------- NL East Mets Phillies Braves Marlins Nationals NL Central Cubs Reds (Wild Card, this year's cinderella story) Cardinals Brewers Astros Pirates NL West Diamondbacks Dodgers Giants Rockies Padres
  21. You think Kott cant duplicate or even better Cash's 08 offensive stats?
  22. Papelbon looked human in September, and then extended his playoff scoreless streak to 25 innings. He is the least of their concerns
