  1. Shouldnt this be announced after the Giants' season is officially over? Thats the most Jets fans can hope for, seeing the Jets defense injure Tom Brady. Picture of that would probably be your new avatar
  2. Yea Rodney isnt a stand up guy, team player, or that good of a safety. He's just a whining Patriot
  3. Hansen, Bowden, and Bucholz is really too much. Now if they were to be able to swing a deal of Hansen, Bowden, substitue for Bucholz... Im all for it. My thinking is just because Bucholz right now has the most upside of the 3 B's, particularily why the Sox are "labeling" him untouchable jacksonian why are you talking as if the Yankees are a step above the Sox in terms of healthy rotation? -Wang has had previous bad experience with his shoulder. He's still a young kid, who's to say it wont crop up again? -Mussina is another year older at 38 -Andy Pettitte, there should be concern about him -Kei Igawa, like Matsuzaka there should be caution with him as the season goes along 5th starter *Carl Pavano... enough said *If somehow RJ isnt traded, you have a 43 year old coming off of major back surgery *One of the kids (Karstens, Rasner, Hughes, Sanchez, AZ prospects) like you said could experience shoulder woes *If Roger Clemens would be signed, there would be risk in adding a 44 year old who pitches like a dirt dog through injuries
  4. I guess it is true, on NBC they confirmed that the Jets are coming to New England next week. Something positive I take from their last meeting is that while the Pats lost by a touchdown... they did so while turning over the ball 5 times!! Good close matchup none the less. I'll have some strong vibes if they have Faulk, Watson, Wilfork, and especially Rodney Harrison all set to go
  5. Thats what I thought too but I heard the CBS sports crew discussing how intrguing a matchup of Larry Johnson against Indy will be next wknd:dunno: Although the CBS sports crew always seem to be off their rockers. I remember all of them ruled out the Pats against the Jaguars a couple weeks ago. Dan Marino & Boomer Esaison each said that "Tom Brady cant handle the pressure?" Today again across the board the Pats were ruled out of the win but came out as victors, the CBS crew came out as dumb asses twiddling their thumbs once again
  6. KC @ Indy (Larry Johnson's gonna do some damage in the dome) Jets @ Pats (Should be a close & tense division rivalry matchup)
  7. No dinner tonight for the Pats special teams coverage
  8. Yea the Red Sox arent going to be contenders for the AL East in 07, keep telling yourself that. Oh and I totally agree, Matsuzaka does not help the Red Sox gain any ground (in December) on the Yankees because heck they have Kei Igawa
  9. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/baseball/bal-os1230,0,5729145.story?coll=bal-sports-baseball The Baltimore Sun, its official. The Orioles have signed him for 3 years/$20 million
  10. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6317476 He will actually end up taking most of his playing time in left field which is where Jay Payton is expected to be. Im sure Jay is going to be happy about that
  11. If Pavano was traded for prospects, we'd see an opening day rotation of Wang Petitte Mussina Igawa Karstens & Rasner filling the #5 role until expected mid-season debut of Hughes
  12. The Mets are in a pickle right now, Id be shocked if Milledge & Heilman are still with the team on opening day. One of them or even both could be bait
  13. There is a sizable difference in the ammount of hits Gagne allowed to what Kyle Snyder has. The 3 seasons Gagne experienced starting these were his opposing BA's-- 175, .270, .251. Now Kyle Snyder's this past season was .331, and his career BAA is at .314 Snyder was a welcomed under the radar pick up by Theo. For now I envision him as a solid long man/spot starter, and steady work sometimes in middle relief :dunno:
  14. with all due respect, where did I say that I didnt think the Sox will be able to find a closer for 2007? Anyone? Maybe you misread my posts but I am optimistic about the Sox being contenders in the AL East. Yes I said on December 30 its not looking like the bullpen I want to see for 07 (hence mainly because I would like to know who will be called upon for saves). I then went on to say that there is still over 3 months left to continue adding arms. Whatsoever did I not say in my posts that I dont think a closer will emerge to stablizie the fort.
  15. Yes the bullpen on December 30 is not looking like as I would like it to be. I believe moves can be still made with just over 3 months left until the 1st pitch is thrown. Baseball games are not won in December, I'll make my reservations on the bullpen outlook when the season starts
  16. The D-Backs didnt know coming into the season how good the duo of Kim & Pinz would have been in the 01 season, despite they just got a collective 28 saves for the year. Kim in 2000 had a 4.46 ERA the year before in Arizona and Pinz was entering his rookie season. I know youre a Yankee fan and have considerable bias, but its too early to write off the Sox's chances because of the bullpen they have on December 30
  17. http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=gammons_peter#20061229 Peter Gammons on the Sox acquiring a closer.
  18. No reason for them to stop the pillaging now, the Cardinals & Mets are struggling to find starting pitching help... who's to say they wouldnt mind taking Carl Pavano?
  19. http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-1/1167457026175360.xml&coll=1 The deal could be done as soon as today. The D-Backs should wear dunce caps if they actually bend over and assume all the $16 million owed to RJ this season
  20. I dont believe they got fleeced when they said we need a shortstop this offseason, signed Julio Lugo (top SS available this offseason). At best the "fleecing" would be the 1st round draft pick taken away, at least they will still gain a supplemental 1st rounder for Foulke. Last year they stated they needed a shortstop after they traded away E-Rent... a month later they signed Gonzo for a palty 1 year/$2.5 million deal. He had a solid stop gap year for us and gave many web gem plays for RSN to see. I guess the fleecing was his offense? Lugo, though yes with uptick on errors, is going to be a great fit with Boston
  21. Yea the ZiPS at times makes confusing projections. I just like looking up them up to see a point of view from an analyst on the upcoming season Its odd that no member of the Yankees has a slf of over .500, and they expect RJ to pitch 220 innings with a 3.73 ERA.
