  1. Right now? Pretty s***** weather outside... my day off was today, and I was hoping to go to the beach or something... no such luck... But overall, pretty good - and down in your neck of the woods? Matt
  2. I just have no clue what's up with Foulke. Last year he shut everyone down, made some of the gutsiest, most difficult saves I've seen (especially in the playoffs). Now, all of a sudden this year, he is throwing meatballs. There HAS to be a reason - when you look at his career, he's been very consistantly good as a closer... I'm not at all willing to give up on him. True, I feel a sense of loyalty to the guy because of the playoffs last year, but besides that... I believe he will turn it around. Before giving up that slam he seemed to have it turned around for about a month if I'm not mistaken. No, I want to keep Foulke. Too often in baseball we jump to rash conclusions and want to get people, or dump them based on too short a period of time. Getting Wagner (or anyone really) to take over as closer would cost us way too much. Matt
  3. So did you guys read that article where Rent said he'd be willing to change positions to make room for Hanley coming up at SS? Wow is that an interesting development... Matt
  4. Thanks man - I try... Matt
  5. Wow - Favre gets shafted... for as good as he's been for as long as he's played, and that's all he makes? Wow. I know he's not getting shafted in the cash department, but looking at some of the other QBs on the list... Matt
  6. I actually wasn't aware Moose made that much. Wow is he REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY overpayed. And they think the Giambi contract is a problem. Matt
  7. Actually the curse was "invented" by Shaughnessy writing that stupid book. The fans just starting buying into it. Jeter believed in the curse... and I quote, "just wait for the ghost to show up... just wait for the ghost to show up..." So trying to make fun of sox fans for buying into it... please look with equal distaste at your captain. Some of the best moves are the ones you don't make - I NEVER wanted ARod on the team, I REALLY wanted to see the trade fall through when it was being talked about. So I can honestly say to you - I don't want him on my team. At the time I would have rather had Nomar, and right now, I'd rather have Hanley Ramirez waiting to take over and Renteria currently there. Yeah. Matt
  8. Ok, lets get this straight: 1. The reaction we would have all had would be to try to get to first, and if a body is in our way try to dodge it - NOT f***ING SLAP IT LIKE A BITCH 2. Still to be determined? The guy admitted to using the cream ON THE AIR. Case closed. 3. Trying to get away with an illegal action on the field of play is cheating. That includes throwing a spitball, putting pine tar in your glove, or slapping at a glove like a bitch. Matt
  9. What do you base that on? Matt
  10. They said the same thing about the sox last year... we were 10 1/2 back from the Yankees and had a real shot at the division last year. The first mistake in any competition, be it sports or war... is UNDERestimating your enemy. The moment you start taking anything for granted, assuming somebody is out of it, or planning based on assumptions, your world gets tossed upside down. Matt
  11. Also - just to show you all how cool my hamster is - this is Maggie trying to make sweet love to Manny Ramirez: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/GambitMG/maggie.jpg f***ing awesome hamster... way cooler than Posada. Matt
  12. Just for anyone who doesn't believe it, check out the comparison. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/GambitMG/maggie2.jpghttp://www.typozalot.freeserve.co.uk/Jorge.jpg Which one is Maggie - which one is Posada? Only the uniform can tell you. Matt
  13. Acutally - tell you the truth, she was f***ing smoking... I was in heaven all day. Not only that, I got there an hour early, and the game was 4 hours... so I was up there for 5 hours. Add to that the bar up on the roof you can go to (which is wicked badass btw) and all the nice tail walking around up there... all around a great time. Matt
  14. It would be a good sports town if the fans and the media weren't rabidly insane *******s. I've gone to PLENTY of sports events in Philly, and I have never been among a more rude, assholish group of people at any other sports event in my life (and it goes accross sports - hockey, basketball, baseball, football - been there for all of them... though football and hockey are the worst). I hate Philly - I really do. Great city, lots of history, cool sports teams - its the surly *******s in the town that ruin what COULD be a great sports city. Matt
  15. People wonder why lefties suck against lefties - its not because they can't do what righties do against righties... its because of that ******** myth that lefties can't hit lefties, and if ANY lefty struggles against lefties, they get sat down, and can't develop any skill at hitting lefties... so they continue to struggle, and continue to sit vs. lefties. Its ******** - there is nothing different hitting a lefty if you bat left than hitting a righty if you hit right. Only difference is a struggle gets you sat if your left handed, and "he'll work it out" if your right. I have ZERO doubt Trot could hit lefties just fine if he played against them regularly. Matt
  16. Not that I don't want hitters to be aggressive - but aggressive is what gets him struck out 180 times per year. Matt
  17. Not really - but I do know one thing. Every time I see Embree come in a game this year, I pee my pants. Matt
  18. Our scouting and development has changed drastically in the past several years. 5 years ago we had absolute trash in our farm system. We are now bordering on a GREAT farm system. Matt
  19. 2 Starters with under 2.0 ERA... incredible. Matt
  20. You gotta have Clement in there somewhere... BTW - what a travesty of Justice that Derick Lee isn't leading the 1B voting in the NL. I know Pujols is great, but DAMN. Matt
  21. By far the best one so far... Matt
  22. Yeah - I've been to Camden Yards, San Fran, and a bunch of the newer parks. But nothing beats this: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/GambitMG/beermatt.jpg As an aside - if you guys haven't sat there (right field roof seats w/table) you're missing out. I had a f***ing WAITRESS bring me beer and nachos. Good s***. Matt
  23. You're just pissed your s***** organization didn't give the man any tools to win games. Amazing what a f***ing s***** organization can mean for a manager's success. Just look at Torre's record with the Mets, Braves and Cardinals before coming to the Yankees. Organization committed to winning + Terry Francona = World Series win Go crawl in a cave and cry yourself to sleep for having a mediocre baseball team, a waste of a basketball team, and a choking suckfest for a football team. Even in the 86 years without a WS Boston was ALWAYS a better place for sports, specifically baseball than that shitfest Philly ever was. Matt
  24. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/GambitMG/attentionwhore.jpg
  25. I think a Red Sox message board is the last place you'll find a high percentage of "bandwagon" fans douchebag. Anyone who takes the time to come here and talk the team has to have at least some real interest in the team. And people wonder why everyone hates people in Philly. Go home ass. Matt
