I hope the Sox got Trayvon. Otherwise I like the deal a lot less. If they gave up Fed, Fife and Chiang and all they got was a douchebag pitcher and Bedard that's not a very good deal.
He had 47 SB in 2009 and 38 in 2008. Who the hell is this guy?
Of course, over 7 MiLB seasons he's got a career .794 OPS and .436 SLG so he's not Mickey Mantle, but the past 3 seasons (1500 PAs) he had .866, .842 and .938 OPS. That's not bad.
Don't get me wrong, Bedard is no slouch if he's healthy. THe Sox needed another established arm and they got one.
Suprisingly, they must have thought that Bedard's health with one bad start under him is better than a supposedly healthy Rich Harden. My garbage can smells better than your garbage can?
Does anyone else get the feeling that the Yankees approach the trade deadline with only 5 tradeable players? It seems like they could have had Bedard without too much difficulty (if Fed is all it took) yet all we hear about is f***ing Montero and the other high ceiling prospects.
Why should they have to give up more than Fed? They shouldn't move Lin and Fed for a short period of a guy who costs more and is coming off an injury. Fed and random reliever, maybe
The thing with twitter is that you get an idea of what guys like Rosenthal and Heyman are doing all day. Fortunately, MLB network has confirmed it by showing Rosenthal sitting in his office with his computer and phone. Funny, that's what I'm doing too. How valuable is he if he's just doing what I'm doing?
I'm mostly paying attention to the trade deadline, but this is a s***** situation for Miller. Bases loaded, one in, down one, one out. This is a close game... for the moment.
