  1. Meah, I could care less how long it lasts. Go 47 innings, use ALL the starters, LOL. Then we would have a series, LOL.
  2. I give Don Cooper MAJOR credit to the surge of this White Sox pitching staff, made decent pitchers (outside of Buehrle) very formidable.
  3. YES! Walked him!!!
  4. Helmets are useful...
  5. LMAO!
  6. Come'on Biggio, pull a Papi win one for the dynamite fisherman!
  7. LOL, so random but I heard on Jim Rome's radio show that Roy Oswalt fishes with dynamite. LMAO!
  8. No dude I agree, but by contending (I meant) always there, a thorn in in your side and close to or in the playoffs. Yankees have won the DAMN division like 8 straight years. Not that I like it but that is contending... And I agree, that is what Spinebender does, buy talent and not develop it (at least recently, but Jeter and Co. came up through their system)
  9. Agreed. All are great hitters and bring some pop to our already VERY potent lineup.
  10. Not contend? They ALWAYS contend. It's the Yankees.
  11. Tracy is a good player but Howard is a walking homer machine. Tracy played the whole year Howard didn't, thats why they had similar HR totals. I would LOVE to have Howard on our team but thats unlikely and even though we're (Talksox) are probably the only people talking about a possible Tracy deal, I see that deal more likely than a Ryan Howard deal. Don't forget Chad Tracy also played outfield for the Diamondbacks too. He's very versatile.
  12. I heard something funny about that 1918-1917 thing. 1918-Boston, 1917-White Sox, 1916-Boston! Now that's being quite superstitious but I found it kinda ironic. But your idea is a spin I haven't heard of.
  13. World Series...? Whats that? :dunno: LOL, no I honestly haven't watched it. Last night I watched Game 2 of last years World Series. More enjoyable to watch my own team, IMO.
  14. Sounds good to me. Zito pitched really good in the second half. I Would definately love to see him in a Red Sox uni.
  15. Its weird October without drama in my house. '03 was round 1. '04 was round 2, and the World Series sweep. This year just kinda was a down year. It's peaceful to not lose my voice and scream and yell, but I sorta wish I could get amped for the games.
  16. WOW, tough question. Not sure, Burnett is a good pitcher but hes sorta inconsistent, but has great stuff.
  17. I wonder how much this affects Lidge. Pujols nailed his slider (it was hanging but still), and now Podsednik nailed his heat, that's his bread and butter.
  18. But thats what I mean. Why blow up our lineup/team when it works fine. Its our staff thats the problem. I agree get a firstbaseman but other than that (if Damon stays) I don't see a need to get anything else offensively. If Damon leaves, a CF would be needed but nothing beyond that IMO.
  19. What's with everyone wanting to drop bombs on our lineup and get speed guys? Last time I checked we won with power, and a great staff and bullpen. We still have the power, we should focus on pitching. I don't see why we need to bring the wrecking ball to the lineup. And Hunter, Beltran, Giles and Huff's salaries would not be less than Mannys.
  20. I don't like hockey either.
  21. I'm glad to see that I am not the only one backing Manny.
  22. Because our team is not in the World Series.
  23. Why not Duquette?
  24. Guys who don't do well in a big city could include Tony Clark. He didn't do great in New York, and he tore it up in Arizona.
