  1. I am but not when quickly browsing at work between running reports. That did scare the mo'f***in hell outta me.
  2. I lost respect.
  3. I am Plump, leader of Plumpamania, and I approve of this message.
  4. Pedroia is the closest thing to a pure #2 hitter next to Jeter in the game. Ellsbury should be hitting 9th.
  5. Vs RHP and LHP: 1. Crawford 2. Pedroia 3. Gonzalez 4. Youkilis 5. Ortiz 6. Drew 7. Saltalamacchia 8. Lowrie 9. Ellsbury (Cameron vs LHP)
  6. This thread is useful now or in March since our line up is set. I mean sure what the hell I'm now AFK from posting until March via Stallion's excellent advice.
  7. Excitement is great, I'm excited too, but everything I read is about us goin' to the Series already, yet the biggest hole in our team last year was the 'pen and there were no injuries to it, and no upgrades there as yet. Everyone and their mother knew we were gonna land Gonzalzez, and most though Werth would be here not Crawford, either way content. I'll be happier when we upgrade what needs to be upgraded.
  8. Good thing you DIDN'T READ anything AFTER that. Bandwaggoner.
  9. So I didn't think I'd be remembered. I'm no where NEAR being a Yankees fan, look up my past posts bashing Jackson repeatedly and any Yankee fan since 2005. I just don't post all the time. I will say however being confident is good, but these forums have grown into being arrogant.
  10. Ah you Sox fans are already thinking you will win the Series.
  11. http://knowyourmeme.com/i/2487/original/82fd835539583bfc43579d7fb2fc1523.jpg?1242728127 This was meant to be about what bullpen arms are out there since the rest of the team is set except for a utility player. Good job Doiji.
  12. In the past week the Boston Red Sox have added the two most coveted offensive players on the market this offseason in Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez. Even with these additions however the Sox still leave themselves open to miss the playoffs. Going into this offseason it was clear the Red Sox were going to let former catcher incumbent Victor Martinez walk away, and contract year wonder Adrian Beltre leave for much greener pastures. Last year was marked by injuries and more injuries and a falty bullpen. So far they've added in two bats, considerably better bats, than the two they lost; however they've yet to address the problem with their bullpen. Theo Epstein has already non tendered Hideki Okajima and traded hometown reliever Manny Delcarmen since August 31st and to our knowledge even attempted to sign a reliever from the market aside from long shot Mariano Rivera. The Angels swooped in and signed Scott Downs, who would have fit in perfectly with the Red Sox needs posting a 2.64 ERA in 61.1 innings of work last year. As a left handed reliever, the Sox surely seem to have an opening in that area unless prospect Felix Doubront fits into the bullpen. Other possible fill-ins to create a closure to getting towards Papelbon that are left on the market do include, Delcarmen who was non-tendered by the Rockies, J.P. Howell, Bobby Jenks, Ron Mahey and Scot Shields. Any other reliever that would have an improvement to the bullpen will cost the Red Sox draft picks, which is something Epstein will refuse to do. Unless the Red Sox add a few bullpen arms into the mix, they'll be battling for a playoff spot to the very end.
  13. Makes sense though, however vs LHP: 1. Scutaro 2. Pedroia 3. Gonzalez 4. Youkilis 5. Crawford 6. Drew 7. Martin 8. Ortiz 9. Cameron
  14. If anyone needs to see more fastballs it's Ortiz. 1. Crawford 2. Pedroia 3. Ortiz 4. Youkilis 5. Gonzalez 6. Drew 7. Salty 8. Scutaro 9. Ellsbury
  15. Buch or Lester (locked up in a nice contract), but as are DPeddy and Youk. Ideally if we are going to deal someone at this point its probably going to be Anthony Rizzo or Lars Andersen.
  16. I wouldn't package Lars and Kelley though or Bucch. Lets give them Westmoreland instead .
  17. And I thought JD Drew and David Ortiz weren't hitting .
  18. Howard always stated he would get ARod type coin.
  19. If Pujols hits FA, I'm down for giving him $35m annually for 5 years.
  20. Howard: .279/.374/.582/.955/141 Pujols: .334/.427/.628/1.055/172 Fielder: .283/.381/.546/.927/140 (BA/OB/SA/OPS+) Those are the three 1B coming up to free agency. I never meant to put Pujols out of the spot light or in a lesser role, saying that Howard was better. I was simply saying that to say that Howard couldn't hold Pujols' jock is a little out of line, as what I was getting from previous posts. Pujols is #4 overall on the career OPS board, which is impressive enough, however speaking Howard is #21. Kinda funny looking at that list and seeing Lance Berkman and Todd Helton both above Alex Rodriguez who barely beats Howard at this point. Howard is by no means worth $25m annually, but how do you really gather up what Pujols is worth?
  21. Jackson the problem with that is Howard isn't a bear defensively anymore, and he's put up near Ruthian numbers since his call up, averaging 49 HRs and 143 RBI. They did a great comparison between Howard and Pujols on BBTN last night. Bobby Cox was quoted to saying if Howard is worth $25M annually, then Pujols is worth $50M. Pujols does have a much higher batting average and OBP, but his power numbers are generically lower. I don't count RBI's against Pujols but Howard isn't that much WORSE arguably.
  22. Remember Clay is going to AAA.
  23. .309/.342/.368 for Beltre isn't exactly fine so far.
