  1. We were at the same games. Guess we brought them luck huh?
  2. I agree 100 %. Sure our pitchers didn't have the best ST but remember Foulke last year. What did he have a 15+ ERA in ST then look what he did in the regular season. I think Clement will have a good season. I think Wells with really do well. I think in time he just might win fans over. And we know Arroyo, Wake and Schilling. Arroyo has really matured as a pitcher and we can count on him for some good outings. Wake is Wake. He'll have his good and bad days. But that's the nature of a knuckelballer. And Schill is returning to form. As for Wade Miller. I think he will come back strong and be a huge asset to the pitching staff. And I love our bullpen... Timlin, Embree, Mantei, Myers, Halama, Foulke. I like our chances.
  3. I too am glad to see Kim gone. But I do wish him well. He's still a young kid and I hope he can figure things out. There is a positive out of this trade. By making that trade, the doors opened for both Billy and Ortiz. And look what that has done for the team. So I guess overall, if you look at that, the trade could be considered a success.
  4. Thanks. We did end up getting back a day later than expected. Flight was cancelled due to storm in Boston. Sleeping in airport...Not Fun. You have to get to ST someday. It is a great time. This was my first year and as you can tell I had a blast. You usually see the same people everyday so you really can make some nice friends. Here's a link to more pictures. Enjoy. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/usmcsister1974/album?.dir=83c5&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos
  5. I love the fact that he knows who I am. I figured he might recognize me but when he actually did I thought it was pretty cool. He really is a great guy. It was fun to be able to talk to him a few times while down at ST.
  6. I'm a little behind in posting about my trip. But here it is. ********* We arrived on Thursday (3/3) and when we got in the park Billy was in the batting cages. While my friend Lisa continued on I stayed by the batting cages. When Billy came out I yelled "Hey Billy". He looks up, with a huge smile and waves and says "Hey, your everywhere". Friday we again got there for batting practice. I had on my new white Mueller jersey. When I saw Billy I showed it to him and he gave me a thumbs up. I asked him if he would sign it and he said he would later. That was fine. So later I'm standing by the main walkway watching the game. Next to me is an older couple. Down the ways a little I see a guy with a jeter jersey on. So I made the comment it should be burnt. Well the older gentleman next kindly says to me 'Now, now don't be bitter'. A few minutes later the older gentleman says "Billy's coming out". So, of course, I got see. That's when I see the older couple I was standing next to go greet Billy. It was his parents. It was his father who told me not to be bitter. As I saw Billy leaving I was giving him a hard time about not yet signing my jersey. He promised he would. I told him I was there til Tuesday. I told him I wasn't going to promise that was the only thing I'd have him sign but he was probably use to that by now. He just smiled and said that's fine. We went back and forth for a few minutes. I also told him I had something for him but wasn't sure how I would get it to him. He thought I had it with me so he told me to give it the Millar. Saturday there was no game but we decided to go anyway and see who was there. I had bought a World Series pennant to have the players sign. I had already gotten Bellhorn and Dinardo and while there got Timlin and Embree. Later Billy also drove out and I got my picture taken with him. When he stopped I said "Hey Billy". He says "Hey How's it going?" I told him I had brought what I had for him with me in case I saw him. He reached out and I gave it to him. He then took my jersey and signed it. He signed for everyone that was there. Later I went to go get my pennant. I had left it in the bag I had given Billy. Oops. LOL I ended up going to buy a hat for others to sign. The day before we left I was able to let Billy know that I had accidently left the pennant in the bag I had given him. He said he'd bring it to me the next day. But the next morning it was raining so there was no batting practice and I only saw him as he was leaving so wasn't able to get it from him. I guess I'll just have to write him and have him either sent it to me or I can get it from him at Fenway. We made friends with one of the security guards, Jay. He drove us to the airport. Really nice guy. When it was time to clear the park out after a game he'd say ok everyone has to leave, especially you two troublemakers. Then he'd say he'd escort us out. Hopefully he'll make it up to Boston sometime this season so we can meet up with him for a game. It was a great time. Was hard to come home. The guys looked great. Here's my favorite pic from the trip. Me and Billy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v51/muellerdamon1118/meandbilly.jpg
  7. shoot. just a few post short. LOL Oh well, maybe next time.
  8. Subject: TRUE SOX FAN!! A Red Sox fan used to amuse himself by scaring every Yankee fan he saw strutting down the street in the obnoxious NY pinstripe shirt. He would swerve his van as if to hit them, and then swerve back just missing them. One day, while driving along, he saw a priest. He thought he would do a good deed, so he pulled over and asked the priest, "Where are you going, Father?" "I'm going to give mass at St. Francis church, about 2 miles down the road," replied the priest. "Climb in, Father! I'll give you a lift!" The priest climbed into the rear passenger seat, and they continued down the road. Suddenly, the driver saw a Yankee fan walking down the road, and he instinctively swerved as if to hit him. But, as usual, he swerved back into the road just in time. Even though he was certain that he had missed the guy, he still heard a loud "THUD." Not understanding where the noise came from, he glanced in his mirrors but still didn't see anything. He then remembered the priest, and he turned to the priest and said, "Sorry Father, I almost hit that Yankee fan." "That's OK," replied the priest, "I got him with the door." GO SOX!!!
  9. I can't wait for more details. Should be a fun contest.
  10. I say more power to him if he can do it. Why the hell not right? He really doesn't have much to lose. If it doesn't work out at least he knows he gave it a shot.
  11. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2005/01/23/can_do_attitude_boyd_to_pitch_for_rox Here's a link from Boston.com Certainly is interesting. :dunno:
  12. Exactly. I don't expect him to automatically be a Pats fan just because he plays for the Red Sox. I have seen him with Pats jerseys on. People can also support 2 teams.
  13. I can see that too. Last night I was watching a review of the 2004 season on UPN38 and just could not stop smiling. I could watch it over and over. I have both the MLB World Series DVD and the NESN 'Faith Rewarded' and LOVE both. 2004 was a great season and I will never forget it.
  14. It's going to be another great season. I can not wait.
  15. Remember though, Billy was playing through pain for the first part of the season. Once he came back from his knee surgery his defense improved dramatically. Overall he is a solid defensive 3rd baseman with a few bad games here and there. But everyone is entitled to have a bad game now and then. And yes, I will defend Billy no matter what.
  16. Yay!!! Thank you. One more question (though I'm not promising ), how come a link to my website isn't showing up under my profile like it was before. Is there something I have to fix? Thanks.
  17. Ok thanks. I knew earlier there was a problem but wasn't sure if it was fixed. I'll just keep trying.
  18. I'm trying to update my Avatar. 19. I was just going to ask about that. LOL I was trying to fix mine but it wouldn't let me. Guess this explains it.
  20. So far so good. I do like the new site. Of course I had just joined the old site.
  21. Unfortunatley I don't think Kim has the makeup for a market like Boston. He did well in AZ because there isn't the scrutiny that players face in Boston or other big market teams. I agree that he does have potential to be a great pitcher. He already has shown that. But I think it is also time for him and the Red Sox to both move on. On another note, I'm excited to get the season started. I'm can't wait to see the team that Theo and Co. has assembled during the offseason. I look forward to another great season.
  22. Thanks Gertie, yeszir and Soxfan#1 for the welcome. I look forward to participating in discussions. Thanks for the compliment and for updating my link, yeszir. I'm going to add a link to Talk Sox on my website. Soxfan#1, I agree what he brings to the team can sometimes be overshadowed. He cares more about the team then individual stats. He likes to let his teammates have the attention. Think that's one of the things I love about him. He's a huge team player.
  23. I completely agree. I'd take our guys anyday. We are lucky and have a special team who get along, love their fans and love to play the game. They just have so much fun playing and are so fun to watch.
  24. I agree that we do need the speed off the bench. But I trust in Theo and believe he will find someone to fill that spot. Thanks for all the support for my boy.
  25. I'm not scared of the yankees. Who cares who they bring in? Last year they proved to be the biggest chokers in Major League HISTORY! Can they repeat?? Oh yes, I think they can.
