  1. In the past, who have the Yankees signed at that kind of AAV that you think they considered a luxury? I think the perfect example of someone they didn't get is Carlos Beltran. If you believe the reports, he was willing to go to the Yankees for less money (somewhere around 100 million total), but the Yankees didn't believe offense was an issue, so they passed.
  2. I would be stunned if the Yankees signed Holliday. They've shown in both their words and their actions that they are going to be extremely money conscious this offseason.
  3. As unlikely as it is for Mark Teixeira to post here, I think we're crossing into a whole new area of improbability with this one lol.
  4. I've been at the head of the pack in discussing how money conscious the Yankees appear to me this offseason, but even this surprises me.
  5. It would make sense, considering that the apparent philosophy is to get more athletic. As for this offseason, I wouldn't mind seeing them bring in Ben Sheets, if the price is reasonable, but I really don't see how a Yankee fan can complain, when you take everything into consideration.
  6. And, it might set them up, as some have suggested, to sign Crawford next offseason.
  7. I just don't want to see you, or anyone else get banned, and I think you might be heading down that path. Regardless, I think it's best to ignore whatever you may think he's implying, and just keep the conversation civil.
  8. Gom, come on, you said yourself that you were going to tone it down a bit. Throwing around words like "retarded" and "douche" aren't toning it down, and can only lead to negative things. They're unnecessary.
  9. Gom, regardless of any little problem you have with Dipre's analysis, are you really going to deny that NYS plays pretty small to RF and RCF?
  10. Gom, this is getting absolutely ridiculous, and making it nearly impossible for someone to have a conversation with you. You don't like the moves, we get that, and I respect that. But you continue to ignore the logical reasoning behind what they're doing.
  11. I wasn't thinking about this when I posted, but if it's true that they let Matsui go over concerns about his knee, I think we have to respect that decision. And please, please, please, don't give me the "we shouldn't believe anything that comes from the front office", because it's logical, and they had to have a reason for this decision.
  12. Nice to see him only have great things to say about the Yankees, even though they wouldn't meet his demands.
  13. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines.aspx?sport=MLB&hl=280131 I wish the picture on the blurb signified the actual deal, albeit an impossibility.
  14. C'est la vie my friend. Normally I would feel bad about running the thread off course, but with this one, I don't think it really matters anymore. EDIT: at Dipre
  15. I couldn't agree more. If someone challenges your post, it is almost never personal. Whatever, I enjoy this board, I just think that there is a bit too much Yankees vs. Red Sox and a bit too many fights. Regardless, it's the only online forum that I contribute to, and it'll likely stay that way.
  16. Regardless, it can be done without insults, and it played a huge role in the escalation of the argument.
  17. Well, I wouldn't say that ORS was in the right. While Jacko was the one who began the comparison, it was ORS who escalated to an unnecessary level with his insult. There was no need for either one, and like people have said, it just ruins threads, and creates unnecessary conflict. In general, I think all of us could do a better job in helping to avoid the unnecessary conflict that seems to happen here, although I realize some of it has to do with the offseason.
