  1. Then start ragging on Varitek too. It's not Drew's fault that he's making $14M/year. In a market where Gary Matthews gets $10M/yr, Drew can get what he got. It's an inflated market, and it has been that way for the past few years. Whether he makes $300K or $14M, I want him to produce. I didn't mean to sound offensive, but I just get irritated when people continuously knock Drew. I'm not pleased with him either, but the bashing is annoying as hell.
  2. Right. So if Paps was just as filthy without the emotion, you'd care, right? If Drew was hitting .300 with 20 homers and 90 RBIs while not showing emotion, you wouldn't give a s***. It's only because he has struggled this season.
  3. Hahahahaha I called that.
  4. The only thing I don't agree with is, surprisingly, your NE @ MIA pick. I'm going with Miami to cover the spread. They ALWAYS give the Pats a hard time down in South Florida. Always.
  5. I'm starting this thread early, and I'm getting my mojo going again. I don't care that I started it a night early. Like I said, enough is f***in' enough. Play the game like we all know you guys can. There have been bigger deficits that have been overcome, obviously, and this team can do it. Win tonight, take the series back to Boston, and go from there. One game at a time. Beckett's on the mound against the heavily-recently-struggling C.C. Sabathia. Let's do it. Game Info: Date: Thursday, October 18th, 2007 Teams: Cleveland Guardians (6-2) @ Boston Red Sox (4-3) Series: Guardians, 3-1 First Pitch: 8:00pm EDT Venue: Jacobs Field, Cleveland, Ohio TV: FOX Starting Pitchers: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/6403.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/6603.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#19 Josh Beckett (20-7, 3.27), (2-0, 1.20) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/cle.gif#52 C.C. Sabathia (19-7, 3.21), (1-1, 10.61) Mojo of the day: 2004 ALCS. We sparked a come back. Do it again - this deficit isn't even as big. [youtube=The Spark We Needed]jEvepm86rDM COMEBACK MOJO!
  6. I edited my post. I realized that you can't really pull off a shoulder, lol.
  7. I am not even going to get into the number of ways that you are wrong.
  8. When I read Ray10's posts, I feel like I'm reading a human run-on sentence. Is it that possible to not recognize wordiness? Does anyone else feel this way? Got your back.
  9. The funny thing is, I'm actually a jew.
  10. If BC goes undefeated through their upcoming schedule, they'll deserve that top-5 ranking. Right now though? No way. I think South Florida does deserve to be that high though. Beating Auburn on the road and then taking care of business against West Virginia? Impressive. Of the current top-5 teams, they put the wrong team as #1. South Florida should definitely occupy that top spot out of the teams that are ranked that high. If you're going to have this Top 5, it should definitely be in this order: South Florida, Ohio State, Boston College, Oklahoma, LSU. The rankings just show how much of a cluster f*** the BCS is.
  11. Officially a 3-0 series lead. Hoooooooooly s***.
  12. I'm pretty sure he'd be watching the same amount of games whether or not the Yankees were still playing. Just sayin'... For the record, Jacko, if he pulls the Sandy Alomar thing off (which I think he can...for whatever reason), people will view his situation differently.
  13. Torrealba goes yard. 4-1 Rockies. Colorado is going to win the world series. They're just a team of destiny. Holy s***.
  14. Gagne sucks. I gave up supporting him when I saw him blow a lead in person at Camden Yards. Enough is enough. That said, Schilling sucked, and so did Lopez. Unfortunately, so did Lester. There's absolutely no excusing that. When our team can get 6 runs off of Carmona and Perez, that should be enough to win the game. However, I'm a little more irritated with Gagne because he hasn't even pitched a 1-2-3 inning in his tenure here so far. He NEVER picks up the slack and gives a good outing to pick his teammates up. Enough's enough. s***** night from all of our pitchers. Not so much Delcarmen, but he almost had his moment. BTW, should I just make the next gamethread? No mojo is bullet-proof. :dunno:
  15. Jacko, I told you that it wasn't a given. So much for that "bittersweet" ALDS loss. Sucks for you.
  16. Polls came out. Here are the top 10: 1) Ohio State 2) South Florida (well-deserved too -- beating Auburn on the road and West Virginia) 3) Boston College 4) Oklahoma 5) LSU 6) South Carolina 7) Oregon 8) Kentucky 9) West Virginia 10) California Also of note: Michigan re-enters the polls at #24 after winning 5 straight to bring their record to 5-2.
  17. 1) Good point. Whatever, rankings suck, lol. 2) Almost as predictable as Trot Nixon getting the game-winning RBI last night.
  18. End this game now. I can't take much more.
  19. Hopefully we've seen the end of Betancourt and Borowski will come in?
