  1. Papi cranked that thing...too bad it was foul.
  2. Offer sent. Add/subtract/accept ... but work with it.
  3. Is it just me, or do the Royals look pretty decent? I mean I don't see them as a playoff team by any stretch or anything, but I don't think they're one of the worst teams in the league this year. I mean, their first 3 pitchers aren't bad with Meche - Bannister - Greinke... what sayest thou? Oh, and Gom, which matchup do you think favored you? I liked two in favor of KC (Bannister and Greinke) and one toss up.
  4. You just like the women's tennis because of the sounds that they make.
  5. Just get back to Fenway. Toronto looks legitimate this year ... does anyone else feel like they won't fade too much while the season progresses?
  6. NESN GET THE f***ING PICTURE BACK ON!!!!!!
  7. It wasn't a hanger, was it? It looked like a terribly located fastball. Tek wanted it down and out, Thomas smacked it down and in.
  8. He was actually raking at the beginning of last season too.
  9. Ellsbury Pedroia Ortiz Ramirez Lowell Drew Youkilis Varitek Lugo ...that's the lineup I would put out there.
  10. I think Tampa will give it a run, but I don't feel like they can run the entire marathon that the season is. Toronto looks like a legitimate AL East contender with the way they've been playing without Rolen and Ryan thus far. Both New York and Boston have a concern north of the border instead of each other this year.
  11. Wow, V-Tek showing the power. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a lasting outage.
  12. Last game in Japan, thank God. Just win the game. Hopefully Lester can keep us in the game long enough to get to Harden... obviously, this pitching matchup isn't very favorable for us. Go Sox! ... only for the Sox would I stomach such early wake-ups on spring break. Game Info: Date: Wednesday, March 26th, 2008 Teams: Boston Red Sox (1-0) @ Oakland Athletics (0-1) First Pitch: 6:05am EDT Venue: Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan TV: NESN/ESPN 2 Starting Pitchers: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/7790.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/7180.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#31 Jon Lester (0-0, 0.00) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/oak.gif#40 Rich Harden (0-0, 0.00) Mojo of the day: So, Sox, when you leave Japan, be happy... don't look back in anger. [youtube=Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger]D-ysg62GmFo OASIS MOJO!!!!
  13. I'm leaving the spring training thread open because there are still more exhibition games to be played after the two regular season games in Japan. Soooooo pumped. T-minus 5.5 hours!
  14. Kinda sucks that we have to wake up at 6 in the morning to watch this game, but I will at least. I'm on spring break so luckily I can watch the whole thing, then go back to sleep. Feels awesome to have Red Sox regular season baseball back on though! GO SOX '08!! The title defense starts with Daisuke Matsuzaka returning to Japan. Starting the thread now so that I don't have to wake up at 5 and start it. Game Info: Date: Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 Teams: Boston Red Sox (0-0) @ Oakland Athletics (0-0) First Pitch: 6:05am EDT Venue: Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan TV: ESPN 2 Starting Pitchers: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/7906.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/7461.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#18 Daisuke Matsuzaka (0-0, 0.00) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/oak.gif#55 Joe Blanton Mojo of the day: Eh, we'll keep it simple today. http://paulmphotography.com/openingday2007/AAADSC_1618.jpg OPENING DAY MOJO!!!!
  15. Good night, Maryland. I thought they would be one of the bubble teams to get in, but they're about to lose to BC in the first round of the ACC tourney. Out.
  16. I really don't agree. Elliot Johnson is fighting for a roster spot and is working hard to get onto the team. Shelley Duncan's just an idiot.
  17. Well, Shelley Duncan implied/said in one of his interviews that if he were to retaliate, he would do it between third base and home plate. Now, either Shelley Duncan was full of s*** and saw Iwamura and decided to intentionally take him out, or he's f***ing retarded since it was second base. Pick one. There was nothing to stand up for. The difference between the two plays is that Duncan's was dirty, and Elliot Johnson's was clean.
  18. This is clearly Shelley Duncan's fault. Gomes got pissed off and tackled him, just like I would expect a teammate to do. Phillips already hit someone, whether it was intentional or not. Why could everyone else but Duncan seem to let it go?
  19. That's still not the best way to measure someone's fielding capability. I don't have them on hand or know where to look, but ZR and other sabermetrics are much better. ORS, where do you get your stats?
  20. lol ... it was complete sarcasm 26... and Thumper kinda bit the bait too...
