ILuvmannyRamirez, you won't have to worry too much. If Johnny wants to keep playing, he will play here most likely. He loves it here! Of course, should he leave, anywhere but the Yankees is fine, I would be a little hurt seeing that. Other than that, he will retire as a Red Sox in his final years That would be the best situation I guess for us, because if we re-sign him and he does s***** in his older years, it's gunna blow up in our face.

I could care less if he went to the Mets, I have nothing against them. I do LOVE Pedro still, and I am much more of a person like ahhchon, where you thank Pedro for everything he's done for Boston and the fans then hate him for accepting a better deal (for him at least, even though the Mets grossly overpaid). People need to realize that baseball is a business, not a game where loyalty is involved. If a player wants to add loyalty into his decision, let him, fine. But when it boils down to the cold, hard facts, it's 100% business. That's that. The fans need to get over disappointments like this. For f***s sake, I just went out and bought a Pedro Mets jersey!

Anni, I may not agree with you much, but I agree with you 100% here. Yankee fans, most of them, (not to make generalizations ) tend to say/think that they are still the best team/organization in the world today. I'm sorry, but I tihnk the best one is the STL Cardinals, as of right now. They are flawless, and just because they haven't come off of a three-peat in the past decade, I find them to be the best TODAY. Yes, the past should be recognized, that I find correct in 26-6, but it should not be brought into arguments about today's ordeals. Not to take anything from the Yankees, they have been a dominant force for YEARS, (26 championships IS quite impressive), but they just aren't what they used to be, as hard as that may come. Recently, this past year and this year, the Sox have shown that they are still dominant coming off of last year, and while the Yankees obviously were a great team last year, I do believe that the Sox showed why they were better last year. Now, you may disagree that the Sox were a better team, but that's a different discussion. My point being, you can't justify the present with past arguments.

...Why hasn't he come out and told us to get off Blowhorn's back? If he's not gunna cover anybody, then let them stand up for themselves. It's the real world.
