  1. Like someone already said... We have 10 players from the '04 BoSox, and 3 from the '03 Marlins (Lowell, Gonzalez, Beckett). 13 total players who have won a world series in a span of 2 years. I'm liking it. Besides, as long as you have good players who can get you to the post-season, you should be fine. But then, the post-season experience comes into play...and that gives us a pretty good presence in both playing experience and leadership.
  2. Hahah yeah. Well, my post was just put out there in general, not specifically aiming at you. But yes, I feel that exact same way.
  3. ...Aren't you the one that basically laughed at me for saying Loretta > Soriano and Nixon > Soriano in our given situation? Now you're saying Minaya should send us Milledge because he'd be dumb enough? So where do you stand? Keep Soriano, send him off somewhere, or not get him? I'm confused because you seem to be contradicting yourself. Basically, I can't say Loretta and Nixon > Soriano, but you can say Milledge >>>>>> Soriano when Milledge hasn't exactly proved himself in the majors yet?
  4. I would also like you to explain exactly WHY you think Soriano > Loretta and Nixon. The only stuff I see you post are general with next to little, if any, support.
  5. Well, what I meant was he's been groomed in the farm to be a 2B. Let him play at his position NOW in the MLB. He could switch earlier because he still had to go through the farm. Now that he's on the verge of the MLB, let's just leave him alone. He's doing fine.
  6. I'd like to keep him at 2B. Let's leave him at his primary position and get him into the MLB before we start switching his position, and re-groom him.
  7. Coco Crisp is already that person.
  8. Soriano is a f***ing defensive blunder. Not to mention I don't feel like taking Trot's LH bat out of the lineup. I'm not starting Soriano in the OF where he's never played before, or has minimal experience. And if you understood my post, I'd like to keep Loretta because we get Pedroia up here sooner. But then again, if you want to delay our farm system from being put to use, by all means, take Soriano. And again, if you want to pay a HUGE contract that the Sox don't need, by all means, take Soriano. I don't want him. Loretta has a great glove, and a f***ing .300 career avg. How could you ask for more? Especially when Soriano sucks with the glove?
  9. There's nowhere for him. This would be one of the dumbest moves the Sox ever made. He would only fit in as a 4th OF, and for the amount of money he makes, no way. I am not putting him at 2B over Loretta. Loretta is much more consistent, and older. Why is older good? Well, Pedroia's only blocked by Loretta right now, who will be with the Sox for a short amount of time. If Soriano plays 2B, we have a young, overrated 2B who's just blocking Pedroia and I don't want that, and neither does anyone else. Besides, he won't even play OF anyway, so he has no use here.
  10. Welcome to the site man, thanks for your service!
  11. Because it depends on the pitcher. Heat is ONE form of irritation, and it just so happens that he was the only one bothered by it.
  12. Whoops...meant Wednesday. The 15th is a Wed. anyway, and it says Wednesday on the league page.
  13. Oh yes. Chris House and Sheffield will get along nicely in RF
  14. Alright, I'm setting the draft time in the league. I'll make a commissioner's note as well to remind everyone. Draft date/time: Wednesday, March 15th @ 9:00pm EST
  15. About being big spenders.... The Red Sox better lock up Papi for awhile. And they better do it soon. Pay the man WHATEVER he wants, I don't care. You give that man the money, and you give it to him real soon.
  16. Hahahah I cracked a smile or two at that. Can't wait for the season to start!! So soon too. When's the actual first game of Spring Training? (For the record, I don't think the one against BC counts.)
  17. Haha SFOC, you do enough for this board and you're the most generous person on it. I just want to give you another thank you for all you've done. With all your contests you've really made this place enjoyable in the off-season. I respect you so much for everything you do, as well as all the members here. Of course, this all goes without being said, but it's the least I can do to make sure you know how appreciated you are.
  18. Hahah so basically you're just saying pitching wins championships, especially if your pitching is good Hahah, it's very true though. All of our pitchers need to perform to their highest capabilities if we want to have a shot.
  19. Haha, seabeach, this was posted abuot 2 years ago lol. Someone dug it up. Just letting you know. I haven't seen Fens around in a LONG time anyway.
  20. I don't know much about Liriano, but I've been told to take him for drafts in fantasy and such. What makes him so special?
  21. Stop beating a dead horse.
  22. Haha dude I don't know, Jerry Porter's name was flying around in trade rumors because the Pats were INTERESTED. I have no idea of the details.
  23. Well, I was implying a possible trade.
  24. Good God, my brackets got killed too. I had Syracuse going to the Finals and I got s*** on.
  25. Oh, right. Hahahha my bad.
