  1. 7-8-9 is Crisp-Lugo-Schilling. God help us.
  2. And Matsuzaka on Friday Maybe Tavarez can get on base as much as he did last time in Arizona? That was classic.
  3. Girardi could get a much better job instead of the Orioles after this season. *cough* Yankees *cough* Even if they do well, it's just Torre's time to go.
  4. Zito? Thank f***in' God we didn't sign Zito. Fenway, more specifically the Green Monster, eats up soft-tossing lefties (unless it's the home team that's facing him...sigh). I've also just never been THAT impressed by Zito over the course of his career, especially recenty...minus his 12-6 curveball. Anyway, the Dodgers can handle the DL stint thanks to their depth. Like someone already said, Bills can step in and he'll do more than an adequate job in filling in for Schmidt. As far as who was the better signing? Schmidt. Zito's signing is probably the biggest rip off I've ever seen in a baseball contract. Yes, worse than Gil Meche's.
  5. Broxton and Ethier played enough last year to be eligible? I did not know that. Are the Dodgers thinking about just inserting Loney at 1B with how Nomar's playing? I'm sure they're looking for an upgrade there.
  6. Since Fitzy enjoys beer, he enjoys saluting fellow beer-drinkers. So, today I will bring back the "Real Men of Genius" mojo. Today we salute: Mr. Ceremonial First Pitch Thrower Outer! http://gingrey.house.gov/UploadedPhotos/MediumResolution/3f08d688-1c0f-4c50-aa70-b10052a4557d.jpg Today we salute you, Mr. Ceremonial First Pitch Thrower-Outer. Mr. Ceremonial First Pitch Thrower-Outer! Dressed in slacks, button down shirt and ball cap, You take to the mound announcing to everyone in attendance I am fully prepared to make a complete fool of myself. You're on TV! Over the backstop, half way to the plate, in to the back of the umpire's head... Who knows where your throw will land. It hit me in the groin! Your fastball was clocked at a breath-taking 8 1/2 miles per hour. That's almost ten! So crack open an ice-cold Bud Light, O Friar of the fireball. Watching you will always be our favorite pastime. Mr. Ceremonial First Pitch Thrower-Outer!
  7. Craig effing' Breslow, PLEASE.
  8. Harris has never been that great of a player. I doubt Boston had something to do with it. He was a bench player here too.
  9. Craig Breslow.
  10. You mean Lugo, not Pena, right? That's who you were talking about in your post. But, given that you've had some criticisms about Pena in the past, I don't know which one you meant.
  11. Maybe it's because Ilgauskas really isn't that great of a player?
  12. For example, don't respond to this post, Fred.
  13. Fred, we really don't need to be making direct or indirect comments about DB. They're only making the situation worse. No one is going to be speaking about the quality of each board anymore because it's only going to fan a flame that we're not interested in. If we just stop with the indirect insults, things will die down.
  14. Yeah, it's important to beat your rivals. However, if I had a choice, I would go with consistency against the rest of baseball.
  15. This game is over.
  16. Donnelly's a pretty reliable guy as well for us. Of course, that's when he's actually available.
  17. I love that dirty f***in' water!
  18. That sucks. PAPELBON TIME. :papelbon:
  19. 'Atta boy Drew. C'mon D-Peds! Bring in some insurance!
  20. Never should have given up on him. He didn't meet expectations but he's probably the best option out of the SS show we've had for the past 3 years. I hate thinking about what he could have done in '06 for us.
