Johnny Damon, i'd say. great fielder, hitter and all around good baseball player. -
Varitek should be captain. He's a great catcher and catcher is the basically the leader of the team even if he isn't captain. He decides pitches, shifts and many other things in the game.

Manny is hitting really well now and if he hits like this for the rest of the season and on, he'll be more valuable.
