  1. Consistency translates to success, on any level. I think we're starting to see that consistency in our pitching staff. Let's face it - we don't tremble when our relievers take the mound like we did (or I know I did) last season, and Foulke seems very comfortable in a Boston uniform. As for hitters - Terry has had to play the cards he's been dealt, and for the most part he's done a dynamite job (we're still head-lining the AL East, y'know). Once Nomar and Trot are back in the order - once they've settled back into their groove - I know our already-impressive offense will find another gear. You just gotta keep the faith!
  2. So I roll into the office at about 8.55 (unfortunately, I'm have no Budweiser-branded "steaming mug of coffee" to cover for me), crank the computer, and log-on. Religiously, come rain or shine, win or loss, the first site I visit is http://www.bambinoscurse.com. The Diary of a Red Sox Fan. If you are not familiar with this daily post, I urge you to check it out. Not only is Edward Cossette (the author) a fantastic writer, but he is also extremely humorous, and - most importantly - a die-hard Red Sox fan. www.bambinoscurse.com - check it out. Hey, any site that applauds our beloved Red Sox so vehemently deserves recognition. Ed Cossette - I give you props, dog. I'm feelin' ya, I'm feelin' ya!
  3. I couldn't agree more, particularly about Kim. I don't want to slate any man with a red 'B' on his hat, but everytime Kim takes the mound - everytime he goes into his wind-up, drops down, and releases that bizarre submarine pitch - I get a cold feeling in my stomach. Last night's performance should convince Francona that Kim is not a starter. Nor is he a reliever. In fact, he isn't much of a closer. Damn...we should sell him to the Yankees!
  4. Okay, so we went on a losing skid at the beginning of the month, and every ******* in Red Sox Nation started to twitch, get a little loose. Maybe some justified panic at the first signs of our notorious bullpen crumbling. But hey, we pulled through, right? And if someone - some wizened baseball sage - had told us all that our Sox would be riding at the top of the AL East, .621, two full games ahead of the MFY, by May 8th...would we take it? You bet your sweet red ass we would. Now all we got to do is hold it together, and you know what...to quote two fine British gentlemen, Lennon and McCartney (I don't think they were singing about the Red Sox at the time, but they may have been): "I got a feeling, a feeling deep inside, oh yeah..." Here we go, people. Here we go...
