  1. Moss went 3-5 with a 2B, HR and K. The man cannot be stopped. His average is up to .299 even after that horrendous start.
  2. Wow, what a great game so far.
  3. That's it, Billy! 5-0 Sox! PS- It'd be better if Brown wasn't hurt. He sucks.
  4. 7 K's through 5 innings for Charles Bronson's namesake.
  5. Bronson's pitching great. Gotta love it.
  6. 6 K's, 1 BB and 1 H through 3 innings for Bronson. Damn, I hate talking to myself.
  7. Bronson just struck out four damn good hitters in a row: Ken Griffey Jr., Wily Mo Pena, Adam Dunn and Felipe Lopez. He's pitching much smarter lately. Like the RemDawg said, he's using his fastball in smarter counts and relying on the slider and curveball less. It'll be great if he gets back on track before Schill returns.
  8. Bronson Arroyo vs. Aaron Harang. Discuss. So far, it's scoreless through 1 complete.
  9. My boy gets some dap in the mainstream media: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050615&content_id=11091&vkey=pr_milb&fext=.jsp
  10. I was going to do an update, but I didn't think anyone read the damn things.
  11. http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/ If money's your thing, this one is great. You have to go searching through teams because there's no comprehensive free agent list, but it's a great source regardless.
  12. Sorry, Cajun, two of those four won't be traded (Teixeira and Morneau), one is way too old, injury prone and a defensive liability (The Big Hurt) and Shea Hillenbrand ain't good and we've gone down that road already. He doesn't hit for power, he has poor plate discipline and he's very streaky. No thank you.
  13. I just got an f-ing sweet idea for a young, right-handed power hitting 1B! Josh Willingham! It's pretty clear that the Marlins aren't going to use him at catcher because Lo Duca is locked in there and Willingham's C defense is borderline, but he could be a great asset as a 1B because he's a solid athlete and a great hitter. Plus, he's only 26 years old and we'll control him for six seasons because he doesn't have a full MLB season under his belt. Here's what he's doing in the PCL: .346/.476/.753/1.229; 13 2B, 2 3B, 19 HR; 41/42 BB/K in 182 AB's. Yes, the standard PCL alert applies here, but even if that was in the IL, his OPS would be well over 1.000.
  14. I think that was the point of this trade. Omar Infante is likely their 2B of the future, but he's been playing terribly this season and has had some nagging injury issues. This allows him to go to AAA, get his swing and confidence back and contribute next season.
  15. So if they're actively trying to trade him, if these rumors are true, that must mean that they are committing themselves to Hanley as either he or Renteria playing 3B in the future. That could be great, that could be horrible. Hanley hasn't played like our top prospect (the way things are going this season, Brandon Moss and Anibal Sanchez could leapfrog him), but he's still an amazing talent with some of the best tools in the minor leagues. If he pulls it all together and plays well, Youk could become expendable. Still, there's always that chances that the man doesn't live up to the hype because he couldn't control the plate at the upper levels and then we waste Youk and have to seek a more expensive replacement. I'd much rather see Youkilis in 2006 making $300,000-$400,000 than Bill Mueller making $3-$4 million, but that's just me.
  16. How can you "pretty much guarantee" Theo doesn't want him? It's pretty obvious that Theo and most sabermetricians put little stock into K rates in judging a player that's already established himself at the major league level. I fail to see what's wrong with a player that gets on base over 40% of the time and hits 40 homers with a SLG at least of .550. Is everyone on this website obsessed with K's? The guy has 50 walks and 16 homers 1/3 of the way through the season. That'd look great in a Sox uniform playing 1B. So what if he's going to be making some cash? We can afford it and it's not like he's going to be making a ridiculous amount seeing that he's still arbitration eligible for the next year or two.
  17. By the way, the team ERA when I start is 0.00. We are also undefeated. I should make more game threads.
  18. Damn, we get some dominance and everyone else gets it too. Sunnuvabitch.
  19. At least Dunn has extra base power. That man can swing the stick.
  20. As I mentioned in the game thread, either Adam Dunn at 1B or Ken Griffey at CF is being showcased tonight if you want to read into things. Hopefully, it's Dunn; I really don't want Griffey's glass bones.
  21. Luke Hudson was moderately impressive except for the second inning. He's got a nice fastball-curveball-changeup combo when he's spotting it properly.
  22. Three runs off of Hudson and three perfect for Wells. I like the way things are going so far.
  23. Yep. I had the windows open, but I shut them all because I'm freezing my ass off.
  24. I already made a thread and it's June 14th, so mine's better and I made it first and I'm going to tell yeszir and he's going to be mad and I'm going to win and nanny-nanny-boo-boo.
  25. Also, I wonder what the "late scratch" was that caused Sean Casey to DH. Maybe Adam Dunn is being showcased as a 1B for Theo? Or maybe even Ken Griffey Jr. is being showcased in CF for a swap of high-priced sluggers? Oh, the conspiracy theories!
