  1. Maybe we could set something up where the members who want to each choose a prospect, and have one thread where they report on his progress? Edit by Yeszir: Roary, I hope you don't mind that I comandeered your thread here. I'm making it the official "pick a prospect" thread now.
  2. Tito > Gradly Little. Enough said. You're always going to find something to complain about with a manager, and I think Terry has not had that many problems. Sure he has occasionally misused the bullpen, and sure he has left some pitchers in too long (schilling), and sure he's pitching Schilling tonight EVEN THOUGH HE CAN GET INJURED. Actually, i may change my mind on Tito depending on what happens tonight. If schilling misses the rest of the season, there'll be hell to pay.
  3. Wow, I didnt know about Piazza doing that either. Kind gesture by him. It's a shame that Williams may have to stay frozen for good now. His son was a dumbass. Too bad their both dead now (williams because he's in a cryogenics lab, and his son because we cant yell at him anymore). Someone should jump in, regardless of lawsuits, and fight this thing.
  4. "Youk" chant in Colorado. Damn. A hit.
  5. Since Zen appears to be master of the minors, let me ask him a question: Who is your favorite prospect Zen? Who shows the most promise?
  6. Awesome, thanks a lot yeszir! Sorry to spoil the fun guys.
  7. Haha, sometimes Morgan seems like a sabateur sent over from the Yankees. His mission is to give false optimism to RSN and make shoddy predictions about our players.
  8. Does anyone know why Pedro doesnt watch tapes? As this shows, they really help pitchers out, because they get to see a point of view on their delivery that they normally dont see. Is he just too cocky to stoop down to other pitchers' levels and watch tapes? In any case, I'm glad he's back.
  9. If Tito insists on pitching schill tomorrow, the best we can all do is pray that he doesnt get hurt. I'd consider it alright if he got shelled and managed not to get hurt. That's better than him going 7 scoreless, only to find out that he'll miss the remainder of the season. Fingers crossed.
  10. I just heard that Pokey is not in the lineup due to an injury he sustained while making that superman play two days ago. (how's that for irony). Nothing is broken, but supposedly he tore some ligaments in a toe in that landing. How can you blame him really? He fell 50 feet on the way down.
  11. Pedro's fastball is back, for good I think. He's hitting 94 more than a few times per game now, and he looks sharp. I'm not sure if its something mental, or if he actually did find a flaw in his delivery as he said he did. Maybe some sort of placebo effect going on? In any case, I'm damn glad he can get it up there in the mid 90's. I was sick and tired of the 89 mph gopher balls. If Dave Wallace really helped him fix his mechanics, props to Dave Wallace. I've always thought pitching coaches were kind of just a figurehead, with no real job, but if one could fix Pedro .... I guess I changed my mind. Here's to him keeping it up!
  12. After an off day, its good to have baseball, no? So I started the thread early on in the day so we can get all pumped up and whatnot.
  13. I hadn't seen Pokey's play until just now on mlb.com, and I can say that it is the most amazing jumping defensive play that I have ever seen. He earned his salary and more with that. Damn!
  14. They wont win for sure. They have so many problems, and are so bad, and are so overrated. It'll be good to see them lose, thats for sure.
  15. I don't really like him joining the team while they're away from Fenway, but I guess the earlier the better. It can't hurt us to have better players in the lineup I guess. Also, he should take advantage of the mile-high air to get his timing back and maybe get some quality hits before coming home and helping us for the rest of the season. It'll be good to see this team at near-full strength again.
  16. I'm sorry to write such a short response to such a good post, but Pedro is a complete and utter beast. He dominates even during his losses. And Yankee fans are stupid.
  17. And after todays thorough beating of the Padres, they'll be worse than ever.
  18. 1) We aren't pampering schilling, he has an injury that is potentially serious. Explain how we are pampering him. 2) Nomar and Pedro get assloads of attention. How do we not pamper them? Do we just say "tough s***" and make them deal with it? Throughout their Red Sox careers they've gotten the attention they deserve, and this is what Schilling is getting.
  19. I remember last year all of the ESPN games were on NESN for us here in Boston. Is this going to be the case again this year?
  20. If not today, tomorrow. After being forgotten for so long, he's back with a vengeance, acting like the player we all thought he would be before all these injuries started hitting him (and before he started hitting walls).
  21. wtf. They blew it thrice. Thats unheard of.
  22. Right. Why put a pitcher, whose condition you're unsure of, in a position to pitch in the worst pitchers park in baseball? Let him rest a bit, look into the injury more, and let him have a chance to pitch at other ballparks.
  23. That's a scary thought, isnt it? Especially after what he's put us through this season. Relying on Lowe = not my favorite thing.
