Francona about pitching to Bonds: And trot4mvp, I couldn't find anything about an injury to Wake. So I guess, if he didnt hurt his thumb, it isn't that big of a deal. And it doesnt really take a thumb to throw a knuckler, its either on or it isnt. Let's just hope its on against Bonds. -
Bah, get back to me when you have a legitimate source. All joking aside, I'm not entirely sure what to think of this. Schilling saying he's going to pitch is nothing new. He's a horse, and he plays through anything his body throws at him. I'm just worried that there's something there that he wants to play through. But maybe I'm just paranoid. It certainly would be awesome if he was alright, because we need all the pitching we can get. But now he has no excuse for 7 runs in Colorado.

Definitely. 28-34 is far from .500, and there's still a good number of months left. I dont expect it to last that long, but I dont expect them to be as bad as they tradionally have been. We'll just have to wait and see. -
Well, the Reds swept Texas, but Junior didnt get his 500th. I watched the game on ESPN 2 and everything. Damn.

Correction: Nomar is 3-4, with a triple. Nice to see the former AL triple champion back to his old routine again.

Nomar raised his average to .304 in one game, lol. It's definitely a good thing to see him hitting again. And how about Ortiz with that HR?

In general nice guys are going to be liked to the players, and you can actually understand what Tito is saying, so I can't see why players would not like him. He definitely isnt detracting from the atmoshpere in the clubhouse. I think, in part, the problems are due to the lack of Nomar and Trot (both prominent figures on the team, not just on the field). The team should swing things around now that they're back. Just some getting-used to it time that is needed.

Why, just as I start to hate him, does he have to turn it around? Because he wants us to hate Schilling and Pedro for not being as good as he is? Well, whatever. I'm glad that he didnt give up 2 in the first, as is customary, and I'm glad they havent scored yet. Keep it up D-Lowe.

And that prospect in question has often been hinted to be Abe Alvarez. While I'd rather see Schilling, we could do worse than AA. Hehe, his name is AA and he's in AA.

I wouldnt say positive. Schill hasnt pitched well and our offensive (save Trot Nixon) is struggling. I think we're making it out to be better than it really is. Plus, as you mentioned ye olde yankee updater, the mfy are up 4-0.

It's certainly cause for concern, but I think that Tek is too good a player to succumb to a slump like this. He'll be back soon enough. [/optimism]

Any second now, he'll do it. The Reds game is in progress, and Griffey is facing Bierbrodt. In fact, he's up now.

I can't agree any stronger with these two points. Kim should be back and have a positive influence on the team, and Curt should shut it down NOW at any inkling of any problem whatsoever. If we lose him for the season, we're as good as done.

Tek is certainly going downhill, and Millar too for that matter. I have no idea what could be wrong with him, other than Boras-itis. He's usually so consistent, but in only 13 games his OPS has fallen 100 points! He needs to get this fixed fast. The sox O is not as potent as it used to be, especially with all the injuried we've had (and continue to have). We need our producers producing, not slumping.

Big game tonight, a lot of key things are going to happen. I hope all goes well. Trot should be back full force, its been long enough since he's played!
