Ortiz and Mueller, as well as Nixon are sitting just to rest them up a bit. Oritz has had shoulder problems, and Mueller/Nixon have obviously been injured during the season. It's also a way to see who's going to be joining the roster in the post season.

I say take Schill out. Not that he's doing badly...at all. He has a 1-hitter. And he hasn't even thrown that many pitches. But I'm comfortable with this lead, why make Schilling throw more than he needs to? He's making one more start before the playoffs, why not let him ease in to the playoffs instead of going in physically exhausted.

Hell's Bells?

From what I heard, Ichiro can hit for power...he just doesn't because it'll mean he gets on base less. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, because his AVG is ridiculous. If he dropped to .300 and started hitting for power, I don't think anyone will complain.

As much as I'd like to say to you, "Don't be so pessimistic!" I just can't bring myself to have any faith in Tim Wakefield. Wake's september: 4 starts, 0-3, 26 hits in 20 innings, 13 walks to 15 k's, and the two standouts: 1.95 WHIP, 9.45 ERA. Ugh. If this is a cold streak, it's one of the worst I've ever seen. Wake needs to snap out of it tonite... problem is I don't think he can.

Pardon me, but did anyone else just notice that Adams just pitched two perfect innings of relief? Has that ever happened in his whole f***ing career?

You finally mentioned that Nomar was your favorite player, and that you were biased. (well, I guess that's a fact) But to say that Nomar would be better off on the Sox and we'd be better without Cabrera and Dougie...that's reaching ridiculous.

I have confidence in both Pedro and Schilling. Either would be a quality 1 starter. But I also think that Schilling can pitch better with less rest.
