I'm not sure if this was already mentioned, but Cabrera thought Tavarez was trying to hit him during the game because of something Tavarez said to him in Anaheim about Cabrera stealing signs from the catcher when he's up to bat. Tavarez also outed Lugo as a sign stealer, saying he likes to signal batters when he's on second. He said he would hit Lugo if he were playing for another team. -
Didn't see yesterday's game, but the biggest problem with Gagne so far has really been the type of pitches he's been throwing. They brought this up on either baseball tonight or Sportscenter, and its a good point. I know we all think Varitek is infallible and all, but maybe Cash behind home plate gave Gagne a different approach to pitch selection. Just a thought, it's just interesting that this was something that was mentioned before, and then the game Varitek sits out Gagne strikes out 3 in one inning.

He did linger a little long, but given how frustrating this season has been (as compared to previous Ortiz seasons), he deserved to.

I remember hearing that he's handled some knuckleballers in the sox minor league system pretty recently, so it shouldn't be a complete disaster.

That's a pretty hardcore tattoo. Today on Boylston I saw some guy who had the periodic table entry for Nickel tattooed on both calves. I don't understand why. -

Welcome to Talksox. Bosox21, I don't really see the provocation for that attack there. It seems to me like you're just jumping on a new guy because he's new. I cringed when I heard the news that Gagne was coming aboard. I'll give him a chance to turn it around, sure, but its not looking good.
