The Blue Jays' hot streak may keep the Red Sox from claiming the AL East, though Boston appears to be in good position to claim one of three Wild Card spots in the junior circuit.

Fangraphs has the AL odds like this:

Make Playoffs

98% TOR & DET

95% SEA

94% HOU (wonder how a BOS win last night might have changed this)

85% NYY

73% BOS

27% CLE, 16% TEX

World Series Win:

9.4 SEA

9.0 TOR

7.8 NYY (continued Yankee favoritism)

7.5 DET

5.8 HOU

2.9 BOS

It's justified: they'll still have Judge to choke, but won't have Cole just standing there because he knows he can't beat Mookie in a race.

I don't get Fangraphs' love for Seattle.  It must be the current hot streak that they're on.

Baseball Reference has the World Series Win odds as follows:

Bos 9.6

Hou 9.1

Tor 8.7

Sea 5.7

NY 5.3

Det 4.9

I'm usually a Fangraphs girl, but I like BR's odds a lot better right now.  LOL

Seattle just lost the 3 game series against a mediocre O's team on the road 1-2. At least the Sox lose their 3 game series to good teams on the road.

They have a better chance at making the playoffs, because they are neck and neck with HOU for the Div win. That increases their odds of winning the WS, too.

They also improved themselves at the deadline by much more than we did... on paper, and that's all this is: paper.
