Not to mention perceived velocity that the hitter feels as the pitcher releases closer to homeplate. Greg Maddux was successful in part to his stride length which was 110% of his height. His 90-92 four seamer felt more like 95-96 not to mention the late movement he always seemed to generate

Not sure what the splits are for Story righty bs lefty but as much as he chases sliders away off speed in is his exact opposite

The reality is this team will most likely make the playoffs but they simply don’t have the fire power to compete against a Yankee or Ray team. It would be nice to see them in the post season but the outcome is inevitable
