This is an unmitigated disaster. The Devers trade only made sense if Bregman was signed long term. Now we have no Devers, no Bregman, and limited options at third base. My best guess is a pivot to Geno Suarez will happen on 2-yr deal for $40 mil. No way will ownership pony up $300 mil for Bichette. Suarez strikes out a ton, is not good defensively, overall is a downgrade over Bregman but considered a good clubhouse guy and has solid career numbers at Fenway.
