Full-speed Buxton from a few years ago gets that sinking liner, IMO. He's favoring the injured hip now, and clearly is not willing to lay out for any difficult flyballs. Meant to mention that pre-game and then didn't get around to it.

Henriquez has been, shall we say, inconsistent. A walkoff is a pretty strong possibility now. Game plan of course was for Duran to deal with the middle of the lineup 1-2-3. Instead the lesser reliever faces the top of the order. Duran didn't quite do the job as planned and now we face the consequences.

If Duran had the command to pinpoint the pitch to hit a batter's toe, he shouldn't waste his talents hitting guys' toes. 😀 He's just what you call "effectively wild" sometimes.

Jhoan Duran in the 8th is kind of a novelty for the Twins this season. He's pretty reliable in the 9th but has been uber-shaky in the 8th for some reason. Twins dodged a serious bullet this time.

Is there a consensus here about the prospect of an automated strikezone? Me, I look forward to it.

Cole Sands is a converted starter whose fastball has played way up as a reliever. He's one of the few pleasant surprises for Twins fans this season.

The umpire hasn't been a model of consistency on balls and strikes, but in fairness both starting pitchers worked the top and bottom of the strike zone very effectively, ditto some of the relievers, giving blue a lot of close decisions to make.

I hadn't done my pre-game scouting*, but just checked and yep, Devers has been cold for the last 4 weeks or so. I've always considered him pretty reliable. Dinged up a little? * Full disclosure, I never do.

Correa with a nice base hit there. He's having a standout season, when healthy. "When healthy" could be the defining characteristic for a lot of the roster our front office has assembled.

Dylan, Prince - who else makes your top list of MN musicians? Boston area has too many to list. My adopted town of Natick (2015-21) has Jonathan Richman of Modern Lovers fame - I enjoyed knowing that the Stop & Shop I bought groceries at was involved in one of his songs, if I recall correctly.

Twins fan here. If there's a critical mass of Sox fans taking part, we could have some fun watching the game together. May the least worse team win! Because I'm totally ignorant of how moderation works here (I do have a pretty good inkling at TwinsDaily), I'll throw out this provocative question: does anyone here have to suppress a snicker when they see the name Richard Fitts? What were his parents thinking? (Am I about to earn my first warning point on my first day?)
