  1. I do know that the name Quasimodo rings a bell.
  2. Btw, Mr Mojo Risin' is an anagram of Jim Morrison's name.
  3. Robby Krieger was The Doors' secret weapon. He's an excellent guitarist and wrote most of their 'hits' including Light My Fire.
  4. The Doors released 7 studio albums during Jim's time with them and, imho, they are all classics.
  5. Devers' RBI are being held down because the SOX don't have a decent lead-off batter.
  6. I believe I'll play something by THE DOORS. Yup, the LA WOMAN cd.
  7. A. Davis (0-1) vs M.Perez (1-2) Looks like we got us a BP game. I'm not expecting 6 innings from Davis. And, hopefully, the Rangers won't get 6 innings from former SOX alumnus Perez. Go SOX!
  8. The SOX great LH, Mel Parnell, otoh, had very little problem pitching at Fenway.
  9. Speaking of pitching in regards to SOX and Yankems, Whitey Ford had a career record at Fenway of 7-6 with an ERA of 6.16. So for a large part of his career Whitey, under Stengel's watch, wasn't allowed to pitch at Fenway.
  10. Yup, and he was soon followed by the Yankems' Ryne Duran, he of the bottle neck glasses, which many of his contemporaries believed were nothing but a psychological prop. He always threw his last warm-up pitch up against the netting behind home plate.More psychology.
  11. Btw, during an interview after he retired Mickey Mantle was asked who was the toughest pitcher he faced during his career. Mantle quickly answered Dick Radatz. "I knew he was going to throw me a fastball and I still couldn't hit it."
  12. The Rangers' announcers were discussing Dick Radatz regarding his holding the record for most strikeouts in a season by a relief pitcher. It was in 1964 and he struck out 181 batters while pitching 157 innings. Hell, nowadays, most of these pampered starters don't pitch 157 innings.
  13. Thank goodness the SOX aren't looking for starting help; at least right now anyway.
  14. I believe Buchholz was the last good starter to be developed in the SOX farm system. I doubt any other team in MLB has a worse track record in developing pitching.
  15. Fun fact: In each of Hill's last 76 starts he hasn't given up more than 3 runs. WOW!
  16. Speaking of Dick Mountain, I had a friend in high school named Richard Liss. His parents just weren't paying attention enough when they named him.
  17. It's a shame the SOX don't play 18 games against these Rangers.
  18. If Devers isn't extended I'll be really pizzed. Even more so than losing Betts and Bogey.
  19. JBJ proves my point. If you can't hit a lick, at least be a good bunter.
  20. "This time you gave me a Mountain; a Mountain I could never climb. It isn't a Hill any longer; you gave me a Mountain this time." Apologies to Marty Robbins.
