  1. Make that 7 innings. I'm not going to look this up, but I'm guessing there hasn't been too many starters this season that have gone 7 against the Rangers and only given up 2 runs. Great job by Bello!
  2. So Bello has given up 2 runs thru 6 innings against the best offense in MLB and this is all you have to post about his start?
  3. I think they meant the team because it would be mathematically impossible there could be 3 SS's with a worse OPS. Also, I doubt Hamilton has enough plate appearances to qualify. When the three guys in the booth are all talking at the same time, it's difficult sometimes to decipher what they mean. Btw, Wake was probably the most liked member of the SOX during his playing days, but, imho, as nice a guy as he doesn't negate the fact he's quite boring in the booth.
  4. Was it Hamilton or the SOX as a team that has the 4th worst OPS at SS?
  5. The good news about Hamilton is that Chang is due back very soon.
  6. Pitch count should be of concern. Btw, a Rangers/Braves WS would be quite interesting.
  7. Unless Casas is injured or sick it makes no sense at all. As for the Duvall/Duran headscratcher, maybe Cora gets the two confused. Both names do start with 'Du.'
  8. Moon, don't let Bello be aware of this. He'll have pressure enough facing this Texas line-up. I agree this is a big game, but at this point the rest of the schedule are all big games. Even the A's with the SOX shattered pitching staff won't be as easy as they normally would be.
  9. Max, at least the SOX will have their LH line-up, which improves their offense immensely. The only RH batters in the line-up should be Turner, Arroyo and Wong.
  10. J. Gray 3.21ERA vs Bello 3.08ERA A good match-up of two very good RH's. Should be a low scoring game, at least while both starters are still in the game. Btw, this Rangers' line-up will be the toughest Bello has faced so far this season. Go SOX!
  11. Another good reason to allow Duran to play everyday.
  12. "What buttons to push." I like that. Weaver was a great button pusher.
  13. Looks like the Orioles' wings are starting to tire.
  14. If I had to pick who I thought was the greatest manager during my lifetime, I would easily choose Weaver. He knew the rulebook better than most chUMPS and he never missed anything happening on the field. I believe Earl initiated more protest games than anyone. He didn't give a crap if his players liked him or not, and many didn't, especially super arrogant Jim Palmer. During some games Weaver alone was worth the price of admission. During arguments with a chUMP he would peck the chUMPS nose with the bill of his cap. After getting fined for that habit, Earl would turn his cap around before going 10 with the chUMPS.
  15. Murphy and Bernardino have both been pleasant surprises, so far. Ort and Garza define the word CRAPshoot.
  16. There's a few better, like Bochy, and a few worse, like Boone.
  17. Dunning is that pitcher that many define as giving the batter a comfortable 0-4 day.
  18. Almost as enjoyable as a fan who believes his manasger can do no wrong and defends him at every turn. Cora's an average manager; no better or no worse than most.
  19. No one here complained about Bernardino, except for Cora removing him so early. There's no reasonable excuse for bringing in Ort based on his history with the SOX. I do understand that this injury prone team hasn't made Cora's job easier, but there's certain moves he makes that are definitely worth discussing.
  20. How does he improve against LH's if he doesn't face them? Please ask your friend Cora. I'd be interested in his reply.
  21. An extremely weak batter with excellent speed like Hamilton should attempt a bunt at every plate appearance.
  22. True, but not useless for 4 years going on 5.
  23. Excellent D by Dugo. He's a hell of a ballplayer.
