To make room for utility fielder Short the SOX optioned Valdez to WOO. Short can play every position except catcher and pitcher, but can't hit a lick. Short was acquired from the Mets for cash considerations. He was DFA'd by the Mets to make room for J.D. Martinez. I thought the SOX would option Hamilton, but it appears they kept Hamilton because he can also play SS and he's faster on the bases (PR). Good luck to Valdez; he had a big hit yesterday and had made some very good defensive plays at 2nd of late.

All 3 have been great bang for the buck. The SOX had a previous Crawford who was a terrible bang for the buck.

Will be watching tonight's game live after recording last night's game so I could watch the BRUINS do a repeat performance of last season's PO game 5. Interesting that just like last season's game 5 loss where Marchy had a great opportunity to win that game 5, but blew it, he did the same last night by choking on an open net shot. Except for last night, Marchy's had a very good PO, but the fact remains he's blown the PO series winning goal for two straight seasons.
