  1. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/instagraphs/diamondbacks-land-j-d-martinez-best-bat-on-market/ Scratch one name off the wish list.
  2. Not that it really matters. No one is going to beat the Dodgers this year.
  3. I think in the last decade the Red Sox have only produced Lester, Buchholz, and Papelbon. They traded away Sanchez, but are there any former Red Sox pitching prospects that excelled elsewhere?
  4. You could also see that the Red Sox, despite their recent struggles are still 10th in MLB in runs scored.
  5. Chris Carter would still have a job, and Mark Trumbo would be making $150 million if this were true.
  6. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/mark-trumbo-and-the-relative-value-of-obp-and-slg/ They've already done it.
  7. They scratched Bogaerts after this lineup was out.
  8. Bogaerts scratched
  9. Stop being an idiot. Trout, Correra, and Bryant might be the only three players that the Sox couldn't get for Betts.
  10. Red Sox already on hook for $140 million before arbitration raises to Betts, Bradley, Bogaerts, etc.
  11. As mighty as you think the Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers are to the Red Sox, those teams are not going to make up 7 games to pass Boston.
  12. Because there are other components of hitting besides batting average.
  13. People need to step off the ledge. This team is 3 up with the rotation finally healthy. They are going to make the playoffs, and this lineup will not be the same as it will be in October.
  14. This would make sense if the team wasn't playing better than it was last year at the same point. I'm also sure that the trade deadline will yield a bigger result than Fernando Abad.
  15. Heath Hembree and Matt Barnes would be our 8th inning guys in the postseason.
  16. He's good at mopping up, and keeping opponents leads where they are. I wouldn't trust him in a bigger role.
  17. Hanley looks so cool when his helmet flies off as he grounds into a DP.
  18. Is it just me or is Benintendi not very good at playing the Monster?
  19. They probably can get him for a Trey Ball type.
  20. Why would the White Sox want Abad?
  21. Bogaerts was higher regarded and had better numbers than Devers when he was called up in 2013, and he still struggled making the adjustment. Most prospects do. It doesn't hurt to have an insurance policy.
  22. Wow. Least surprising result from an AB of all time.
  23. Buxton, Inciarte, Herrera, Hamilton. I didn't know there were that many great defensive players in CF.
  24. Is there a better defender in CF than Bradley?
