  1. He had one in 2015 against KC, 6.2IP 3 ER
  2. I'd love to see RBI/Run pairings. Like how many of JDs 1500 RBIs this year were Mookie.
  3. To be fair, while he doesn't have any postseason wins, 4 of his 11 postseason starts have been quality starts
  4. I forgot you are near Houston, I have relatives on the other side of Houston, in The Woodlands. Did you go to any of the games, I heard tickets weren't all that expensive down there for tonights game.
  5. Gotta love the reverse lock. You've convinced me, the sox will win it tonight.
  6. I was just thinking that yesterday. He could make this postseason much easier.
  7. An average game for an AL starter this postseason is about 4 innings and 2 ER. I'd be fine with that.
  8. I expect the sox to win, but still nervous. Price on short rest and Sale less than 100% could both be tough. I still like our chances if it gets to game 7, but don't want to go there.
  9. If he gets into the 5th with 2 or fewer runs I'll be impressed.
  10. If he struggles tonight I won't hold it against him. 3 days rest along with all the pitches he threw in the bullpen yesterday.
  11. Barnes will be needed tonight, off day tomorrow he'll be fine by game 6. Kelley can pitch an inning, maybe 1 or 2 batters for Brasier. Kimbrell is out.
  12. I agree that you can't tell depth from the replay, but you can see that the fan in white on the right has one hand on the wall and is clearly leaning over. He wasn't the one interfering, but he was right there.
  13. If I'm not mistaken the replay people in NY are not told what the call on the field was. IMO they assumed the call was HR and wanted that call to stand, but couldn't justify calling it a home run from the replay. MLB does not want another Bartman.
  14. Exactly. Looking at the ball it's hard to tell over the wall or not, but looking at the fan it's clear his arm is over the wall. Did anyone happen to notice the ball Vasquez hit near the right field wall? The fans are clearly leaning away from the wall to avoid interfering with the outfielder. This shows why that call had to be made in my mind. There was no attempt to stay off the field by the fans when it's a sox fielder.
  15. There is also the added force of the fielder jumping towards the wall. I'm not entirely convinced it was a catch, but I am convinced that the sound was not the ball hitting the wall. For the ball to make that sound it would have to strike the wall reasonably hard resulting in a much larger deflection.
  16. What do people think about ERod right now? I guess he's in the doghouse over his lack of hustle in game 2, but he looked pretty good last night. It would be great to have another reliable arm in the pen, even though there aren't a lot of lefties on the Astros.
  17. Is this the video https://weei.radio.com/blogs/rob-bradford/apparent-blown-call-costs-red-sox-chance-build-lead-over-astros I think the sound is his glove hitting the wall, not the ball.
  18. I stand corrected, I guess there is some debate. I just watched the video on weei and I don't see how it 'clearly hit the wall'.
  19. I'm mildly confused why this would need a thread. There was no one who thought it wasn't a catch after the replay.
  20. I'm not entirely sure this is true, it might be more the issue with long rest. I'm willing to bet most of the time he pitches in a non-save situation it's because he needs work, i.e. hasn't pitched in a while. On top of that, I don't believe this would apply in the playoffs, every outing is important, save situation or not.
  21. I don't know much about him, but looking at his numbers the thing that jumps out is his 1st/2nd/3rd time through order splits. .498/.713/.821 ops against Just about the best in baseball 1st time through, but gets bad fast. Don't know why this guy would be a starter. We'll probably see a lot of the Houston bullpen tonight.
  22. Kimbrel needs to pitch tonight no matter what the score is
  23. Why Kinsler over Devers? Kinsler looks lost at the plate, Holt is not good at 3b.
  24. Getting some production from Benintendi and JD is key. Houston hits righties much worse than lefties. I expect at least one win from Eovaldi/Porcello
  25. Did you watch the game? He had a lot of walks, but they were all on 3-2 pitches if I'm not mistaken and were a matter of not wanting to give in to good hitters, he probably should have walked Gonzales instead of giving him a hittable pitch. I know the line is bad and he could have been a lot better, but he was not the same pitcher from the ALDS, definitely deserves another start.
