Thanks for the welcome Kimmi and the vote of confidence. You were missed over there......although I understand why you left. This seems like a great place and I'm looking forward to contributing here. There's already 4 that I know of who are awaiting approval. Hopefully it happens soon.....that place is going south fast.

No worries. It's not like 'The Walking Dead'.........we'll play nice! I think you'll find that there are a lot of great posters there that simply want to talk Sox, have good natured yet spirited debates and just hang out to get away from 'life'.

Hey Nut!! Good to see you here! Yes.......really hope a bunch come over from there. I knew many thought about starting a new forum. Starting a new forum is good and all, but this place already has a strong membership and one of the complaints there was that it was getting to be too small. Why not join where there already are some great posters?

Some may be aware, The BDC Forum at the Globe site is shutting down in 1 month. It has been a great community for YEARS and I know some of you were and are members there. A lot of us are left without a place to post. Some of the most knowledgeable Sox fans I have ever met are on that board and I think they could add to the already great conversations that happen here. To the site mod....please accept their 'application' when they apply as you may start seeing a lot of people showing up. To the other members here....please accept them with open arms. I am hoping that once they join they post on this thread so we can see who 'showed up'. Thanks!

Never disliked you!! I have that innate ability to bother the heck out of people!! Contrary to popular belief, I did not join here to creepily stalk anybody. Things get boring at 'other places' so I wanted to see what this place was like. Seems pretty good with a lot of familiar faces from a while back. Hope all is well and you're enjoying the start of this 'interesting' season. If we can get some of our pitchers to learn how to pitch again....and not throw .....this could be a great season......

I go back and forth on this one. I absolutely love Fenway, it's dimensions and obviously the history........but it has got to be the most uncomfortable ballpark to watch a game....and I've been to a lot. Heck.....I'd rather sit on the old bleacher seats at the old Foxboro stadium then in those crappy seats at Fenway. The other thing is.....when I am paying $200 for 2 tickets....they had BETTER NOT BE obstructed.....and sometimes they are!! I love the Park.....but by the 4th inning it makes me want to leave the park, go back into one of the bars and watch the game there.....

Is the actual rotation the worst in the last 10 Y?

I actually like this rotation. I HATE the over-used term 'ace'. Sure a good TOR starter is important......but teams win without an 'Ace' all of the time......heck, look at the two teams that made the ALCS last year! Not too long ago people wanted to get rid of Lester (2012) and trade him for Meyers....saying he wasn't and Ace. No....he wasn't, but I don't want ANYBODY else pitching for my team when it counts then him. What we have are a bunch of VERY solid pitchers that pitch into the strength of this team which is their defense (other that SS....hopefully Xander comes up big this year). They are al ground ball pitchers and VERY well suited to Fenway. I really think people will be VERY surprised at how good Wade and Porcello are.... -
Agree 100%. What he does in the field is nothing less than amazing. A pitcher being able to trust that his defenders will make the play almost every time is NEVER a bad thing and should not be discounted. Yes his offense has been declining, but Pedey is a proud player and I look for him to shut his critics up this year and have a big season.
