  1. As the Cards are off, and I have absolutely nothing to do tonight I'm going to watch your game and add my 2 cents in the thread. Being very old school, I don't like Canadian Baseball AND always pull for the underdog. (SOX) You're gonna have your hands full with Dickey. Bear in mind that the last time I posted in your game thread you won the f***ing World Series. BTW, Molson is pisswater.
  2. I tuned in to the SF/LA game last night and Peavy was pitching in the 3rd. In that inning he bounced 5 balls in front of the plate of which 2 got away from the catcher, gave up 3 hits, 2 BB and 4 runs. He really looked like s***. I don't know how he did after that, but from what I saw I have to wonder why a contender would even f*** around with him and the incredibly awful Dan Ugla. Sometimes I think I don't understand baseball at all.
  3. I still don't get why he would be booed in WRIGLEY by White Sox fans when he plays for the Cards! It makes about as much sense as the hot dog ********.
  4. Wow! After seeing Spitball's clip I'm convinced he's an ******* of biblical proportions. But he's 4 for 8 so far with no passed balls and our losing streak was stopped in it's tracks. When he plays his 1st home game the love fest from the St. Louis fans may make him want to puke. On a serious note we really need something to wake this sleeping team up. He can only help in that area. I'd love to see him deliver a pile driver to Matheny!
  5. I didn't know that, but why are Sox fans going to Wrigley? Just to boo the guy? Was he THAT big a pariah
  6. They're booing the s*** out of the guy every time he comes to bat at Wrigley! What's up with that?
  7. Well now...that's bad news. Now that I think of it, all the pitches he smacked were right down central. But of course, it WAS the Cubbies.
  8. The f***ing Giants stole our pitcher!?? Damn! Who else you guys got
  9. It IS weird...like an AL team or something. AJ ended up 3 for 4, all balls hit sharply. We don't need no stinkin' Molina!
  10. AJ has a couple of hits so far in the game. Already out-produced Cruz from an entire week. I like him already! BTW...I see that the Empire finally lost one to the Jays and the O's are losing. Go get one tonight Boys.
  11. Thanks for the info Spud. He will be starting TODAY! Tell me: is he the catcher for you guys with the bad throws in the WS?
  12. The Cards did not pull the trigger on Peavey, but it appears that AJ is coming. The AAA catcher backing Cruz, who's subbing for Molina was sent back down and the word is that AJ is coming. I wonder what or whom the Red Sox will receive? And will Peavey be included? You guys know anything? EDIT: I see that you guys have already released the guy. So why in the hell would WE sign him?
  13. You are correct. The Robinson blunder! Then I don't know WHO was the last dominating starter we acquired. Maybe it was Pete Alexander in '26! I see you guys won again last night. 6 or so games from the wild card. 8-2 in the last 10 make you the hottest team in baseball. Good going. Breathing down the backs of the Southsiders and KC.
  14. With all the inter-league play I find myself watching more and more AL games. I know maybe a 10th of what you guys know about the AL but for what it's worth I must say that the KC sweep was a stunner. (they took 3 of 4 from us) You're gonna pass Tampa Bay this week and bear down on the Empire as Toronto settles in to the .500 team they are. It was a bad break that the Yankmee's caught the Reds with half of their all star infield on the DL. Of course it was a good break for the Cardinals. The Reds were getting too close. The Sox WILL be in the WC race in the next 2 weeks and this weird first half will be just a memory.
  15. You must have taken the quickest look in history 'cause I didn't spot a Spud.
  16. You may be right. A change of league may work wonders, at least for a couple of months. But the scuttlebutt around St. Louis has shifted from Peavy to Price. Personally I don't believe they will pull the string on Price or ANY high dollar pitcher. Why? Because the Cards only open their wallets for every day players. The last top starter they aquired was Milt Pappas! (or so my Grampa told me) And he was a major FAIL. We need a .500 type pitcher to anchor the back of the rotation. Peavy could do that and a little more.
  17. It's the inside fastball. He can't lay off it, and he can't hit it. http://www.stltoday.com/sports/columns/bernie-miklasz/bonus-bytes-a-closer-look-at-allen-craig-s-struggles/article_bee097cf-00a7-53ed-a66c-f078a86cf88f.html Craig is starting tonight for the Cards vs. Dodgers on ESPN tonite so you can get a look for yourself.
  18. I don't think Boston will pull the switch on it now. Craig has lost his job in RF to rookie Oscar Tavares. The secret is out: Craig sucks big time. Can't hit a lick.
  19. I'm not sure if the "ndecent" was a typo or what, but any friend of Samartino is a friend O' mine.
  20. No. Not familiar. I don't like the big forums with dozens and dozens of posters making rapid fire entries and bitching about everything under the sun. I prefer the "boutique" forums like the link below where you or anybody else (like me) are welcome. We love drop-ins but get very few as the site has a tiny profile on the net. Visitors mostly go to Cards Talk Forum. They banned my ass 5 times for bad mouthing La Russa, so f*** 'em! http://s7.zetaboards.com/stlouislegends/forum/50602/
  21. Thanks Spud. And you know that there's time for the Sox to make up some ground and make it interesting in September. I just found out yesterday the Cards/Sox play a series this year. I hope you show some mercy, unlike the Yanks who kicked our ass a couple of months back!
  22. Now I hear that Beltran got his face all busted up and was concussed. Looks like we let Carlos walk at the right time. (whew) The Yanks rank right up there with the Cards in snakebit-ism this year. But they're f***ed while we still have a chance to play in October. Slim, but a chance.
  23. Thanks Spudboy. After reading that I don't think he would be a good fit in St. Louis. That IPod s*** would definatley not fly.
  24. I was unaware of that until the local call-in radio shows were alive with the fear that our GM would panic and add him to the Peavy proposition. But Mozielik won't be swayed. Now I read that AJ was DFA'd?!! What gives?
