This Sox team did not "luck" into the Playoffs as the Champs of the East... They remind me of my '02 Angels; clutch offense with clutch pitching performances. I think they can play with anybody this Postseason. Of course,the A's are still a huge under-the-radar challenge. *edit- If this topic had been my first post (like the author), I would expect to be banned as a pure troller.

I'm "DC" from out in Long Beach California. I'm a lifelong Angels fan, who also grew-up rooting for the Sox. The Angels are my #1 team, with the Sox a close second. I started following the Sox in the 80's (Boggs, Lynn, Rice, Evans, Clemens, etc.). I prefer the Sox team-concepts over the Evil-Empire. I hate shaving, and have really loved following this years' "Bearded-Wonders!" I was even able to root for the Sox after they beat the Angels in '86. Man, that was a painful year... I'm a Dirtbag Alumni (Long Beach State '92), and still play in the Alumni game every year. I also play in a Sunday baseball league (our team usually plays in Division 2, of four). I love playing 1B and talking to opposing players that happen to get on base, but I can play anywhere. I end-up playing SS, 3B, and outfield during our 10-game seasons. I taught myself to switch-hit, and have hit 5 home runs over the last few years (3 left-side, 2 right). Our team won Division-4 back in '05, and have lost in the Finals three times since then... I never shave on game-days (any sport!), and I go with the high-socks cuz it makes me faster! A buddy finally got me off my ass years ago, and we've been going to Tempe, AZ for Angels Spring Training every year! The second year we went, we made friends with a huge group of Sox fans who preferred the West-coast weather, and we've been meeting them for about six years now. Last month, I traveled to Belfast Ireland. Before leaving, I Googled "Irish Baseball," and found the Belfast Northstars Baseball Club. After a few emails, I was invited to play a double-header with them while I was there! They are on Twitter, and inspired me to put @LBAngelBaseball on Twitter as well! I LOVE baseball! I wish I hadn't switched to swimming/water polo in high school, to see how long I could have gone getting paid to play this game. I love the pace of our game, and the assortment of odd characters that play it. I've trekked to several parks, following the Angels. The first park I went to was Fenway, back in '05 and it is still my favorite! (over old Yankee Stadium, and Wrigley Field). I found this site, searching for a Sox fan-forum similar to our Angelswin.com I hope to learn a lot about the Sox and their fans here, and would love to hear from yuall!
