  1. I was trying to post a youtube video of bolt's batting practices but the site said I have to have atleast 15 posts on the site when I have 45. Anyone know what the problem is?
  2. I dont want Lowe back in a sox uniform. Also, de la rosa is projected as a long reliever/emergency starter type pitcher similar to how alfredo aceves was before being forced into the closer spot last year due to bailey's injury.
  3. what does uzr stand for
  4. It would be hard to fathom the Red Sox not signing JH due to all the work BC has done. JH would turn this club into a contender. After we hopefully sign him, we need to focus on pitching. Signig Uhera was a good step in the right direction.
  5. RT @thejoshhamilton: heading home!! This signals that it will take awhile until a contract is signed for Hamilton
  6. Gordon Edes@GordonEdes Baseball source on possible Ellsbury trade: "Always a chance they would move him if they got the right fit.''
  7. I do not think it would make sense for the sox to send both bradley and ellsbury for lee considering that Bradley is presumably ells replacement waiting in the minors if Victorino falters
  8. Buster Olney@Buster_ESPN Rival officials believe that the Red Sox are laying the groundwork for a trade of Jacoby Ellsbury, for the pitching they need.
  9. Red Sox Interested In Eric Chavez reports MLB Trade Rumors
  10. Chicago Cubs manager Dale Sveum was accidentally hit in the ear with shrapnel while hunting this offseason with Hall of Famer Robin Yount. Dick Chaney Part II
  11. Watch the video that pops up between Edes and Karl Ravech it is available if you go on to the espn mlb homepage and a video should pop up I am not able to post the link due to the fact tha I do not have many posts because I am new to the site
  12. According to Gordon Edes Cliff Lee was/is on the Sox wishlist. There have been talks about a Justin Upton for Lee swap but there is speculation he could be traded to Boston for Ells and a prospect of somesort. This would be the type of pitcher the sox desperately need.
  13. You have to realize that Sands played in a heavy hitters ballpark in AAA Alburquerque. His numbers deflated once called up.
  14. John Lackey quote about the addition of Napoli, "He’s a guy who likes to have a good time, but when it’s time to go he’s ready to compete." How stupid was that to say? Jeez Lackey, after the fiasco in the clubhouse thats just what we want to hear. Dumbass.
  15. I would love nothing more than to see Hamilton in a Sox uniform. Also, recent reports suggest that Diamondbacks are pushing hard to trade Justin Upton. Could be an intriguing option.
  16. With Mike Napoli having agreed to a three-year deal, what's next for the Boston Red Sox? As ESPN.com's Jayson Stark tweets, the Napoli signing takes Boston out of the running for Adam LaRoche, as Napoli is expected to handle primarily first base. However, the Sox still need an outfielder, and Stark mentions that Shane Victorino, Cody Ross and Nick Swisher are on the club's radar. Napoli actually gives Boston a little bit more flexibility, since he can play catcher as well as first, so it might be an intriguing idea for the Sox to go after Swisher, a switch-hitter who plays outfield as well as first base, or Victorino, who also hits from both sides, and create a mix-and-match lineup that involves exploiting platoon advantages between catcher, first base and outfield. New manager John Farrell has shown a knack for picking up on strategies like this -- he became one of the biggest proponents of employing defensive shifts while managing the Toronto Blue Jays -- so one would think he could put such a scenario to good use.
  17. good work today by ben. I am really intrigued by Shaun Marcum since he is accustomed to playing in the AL East with the Blue Jays awhile back. Just a thought but if the Sox do not offer Bay a minor league contract I think the Blue Jays would make sense due to his Canadian roots and he would be a low risk high reward type sign.
  18. I believe that these "minor trades" can turn into "major trades" due to the fact that the sox have just given up 3 roster spots to make room for other players in free agency or through trades. This could possibly mean acquiring the likes of Choo, Masterson or a combination of Gordon, Hosmer, Moustakas or go after free agents like Victorino or LaRoche or maybe just maybe (drum roll) Josh Hamilton
  19. The bad thing about reynolds is that he reminds me of a better version of wily mo pena he either crushes the ball and strikes out also like Adam Dunn
  20. sorry I don't know how to quote
  21. Seabeachfred said the following in a post above-The Yankees are signing players that will help them while we are doing practically nothing. Get it? Some here do. Cherington has enormous trouble pulling the trigger on just about every deal and with December almost upon we have done little to improve ourselves after being totally embarrassed and humiliated this season. I can understand your frustration but in reality, what team besides the tigers signing of torii hunter and the yankees resigning their guys has really done anything? Nobody. Besides, who knows what you will get out of Pettitte and Hunter due to their old age and Kuroda could have a bad year just like anybody else. It is easy to just sit there and criticize when we honestly have no background information as to what is going on behind the scenes. We must wait until the Winter Meetings is over in order to have a better idea of where the Sox stand and what they intend to do
  22. I am still interested to see if the Sox will go after a guy like Shaun Marcum he would be an intriguing option to add depth to the rotation when I am not sold on whether Lackey will return to form because of TJ surgery ie. Dice K. Also, I am still skeptical about Felix Doubront and whether he will truly make the next step in the coming season
  23. Santana is owed too much money and has been an injury concern ever since joining the mets. No way do I want him and his lucrative contract on the sox and give up significant prospects for him
