  1. Ill say this, Ill root for the Pats every week when they are not playing the Eagles, and that should not be hard since they are in different conferences. Same goes for the Phillies when they are not playing the Sox.
  2. Thanks for all the support folks. Yeah, I guess it is kinda weird that a guy from the deep south adopted Boston/Philly teams, but it's one of those things where everyone understands and accepts that real pro sports are played in the north (baseball, football, basketball, hockey etc.). Plus the south is FAR and away more crazy about college athletics. Next point--GEAUX TIGERS!!!
  3. Thanks Youk. My Dad has always been a HUGE Saints fan (my family is from Louisiana and Mississippi), but when I was growing up, I really liked Randall Cunningham, Reggie White etc. (I had a friend in elementary school who liked the Eagles too). I never wanted to become a Saints fan, because I watched my Dad suffer in the 80's and 90's, and I'm not going to become one now since they are good either. I guess I expected folks to say, yes, if you like all other Boston area sports teams, you have to like the Pats (big fear of mine )
  4. That is awesome! Thanks for responding. I guess I always thought that if you were going to root for teams, they should all be from the same city/state and I'm not like that. Heck, at least Philly and Boston are fairly close in proximity.
  5. Also, does Boston consider Philly a rival city (I know nothing like nyc, just curious)?
  6. I have a perplexing question to ask, and I'll try to make it short : ) I have lived in the deep south my entire life, and I'm only 28 yrs old. Growing up in my part of the world, you were either a Braves, yankees or BoSox fan for the most part (until recently, you have a lot of bandwagon Rangers fans around here). Years ago, I chose the Sox for my baseball team and I've always been a Celtics fan (20 yrs or so). Within the past 10-12 yrs, I've began watching hockey and adopted the Bruins as the team I follow (box score etc.). My question is this, my teams are the Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Eagles (DON'T SHOOT, I didn't mention this earlier because it's part of my question). I was just curious if Bostonians or New Englanders would take issue to someone who roots/pulls/cheers for all of their Boston sports teams, except the Pats? Also, do all Bostonians/New Englanders (Red Sox fans, Celtics fans, Bruins fans) root for other NFL teams or is it, all Pats, all the time? I don't have anything against them, but I've always loved the Eagles, since I was a little kid because everyone else down here liked the cowgirls, and I enjoyed when the Eagles would beat them. Your insights and responses would be appreciated because I have been wondering this for a LONG TIME! Thanks!
