Straw man. Bobby Valentine can and does do wrong. I think he's been flat out bad at managing the pitching staff this year.
I have to go back to work now. I think I'll spend the afternoon drinking beer and playing video games and if my boss says anything I'll tell them "that's not how we do things around here" and then demand to know who the snitch is that told them.
That's how jobs work, right?
Good point, Youkilis hitting .176 is totally what the team is paying him for.
Funny how when Youkilis calls out Ellsbury in the media no one cares. But when Bobby Valentine calls out Youkilis in the media, "it's now how we do things around here".
Someone who's actually played for him said otherwise. I suppose we should trust you instead and just keep trying to blindly rationalize our players acting like babies.
And frankly, if these million dollar babies can't handle their boss calling them out when they don't do their jobs they can find a new team to play for.
Bobby Valentine's not an idiot, he made the remark for a reason. Need I quote Al Leiter's remarks about how he didn't like playing for Valentine, but he always prepared for his starts when he did? You may not like his style but it serves a purpose.
I love Youkilis and Pedroia, but they should really shut up. I don't care how the team "does things around here" because that way of doing things has gotten them back-to-back third place finishes. Bobby Valentine's their boss and he was brought in for a reason. When the players were left to police themselves they were drinking and playing video games in the clubhouse during games.
