  1. I'm not expecting to get too many replies in this thread, but I'll settle for a few. As for the other poster situation, I was making a comment on a discussion that had taken place. That is all. It's funny that I'm copping s*** for "insulting another posters fanhood" when, regardless of how long ago it was, that is exactly what RedSoxfanforlife305 was doing right through this thread. I also found it funny that I'm accused of "trolling" for simply making a statement about a discussion and supporting my team. As a Mod on another forum with over 100,000 members, I'm familiar with the term "trolling", and in this situation, the only one doing that was RedSoxfanforlife305 in the first place. If I went into a thread dedicated to his team and started talking s***, THEN you could call it trolling.
  2. What makes you so sure of that? I think Iglesias will turn out to be a quality ful-time SS. His defensive game is already well and truly ready for the big time, in fact I read a report somewhere which referred to Iglesias as "a multiple Gold Glove winner waiting to happen". The only real problem that seems to be holding him back is his ability with the bat, and I can't see any reason why his offensive game wont continue to improve with experience.
  3. I have a hat which (I think) is similar to what you're looking for. It's a New Era fitted cap, blue with blue brim, has the red 'B' on the front, and on the back (where the strap would be if it was adjustable) it says 'RED SOX' in red. I got mine from Rebel Sports for around $35, but I think Rebel are only in Australia, and I'm assuming that you're an American? If so, I think your best bet would be to check out the MLB.com store. I was going to get a hoodie from there but they wanted to charge me $150 in postage. If you're an American though, I think the postage costs are far more reasonable. Good luck with your search!
  4. Yeah, a lot of people seem to really like him, so I guess I must be crazy As I said in my first post, I'm a big fan of Andy Roddick. He just seems like a really cool and chilled-out guy, and he's a big guy like myself. I love his power game as well, especially his serve.
  5. To be honest, when it comes to Federer, he really annoys me. I don't know why, but he just bugs me. He also comes across as pretty arrogant when he speaks as well, although other people have said that he comes across very modestly, so maybe I'm crazy or something.
  6. I tend to agree. I've got nothing against Scutaro, but I really want to see Iglesias get a chance in Boston. Some people point to his troubles with the bat, and then point to how much better Scutaro is offensively, but as you said, with such an offensively-dangerous team, we can afford to lose a little offense at SS in order to improve our defense at that position by quite a lot.
  7. I'm not trying to start anything. I'm only here because I want to talk about the Chicago Bears. Does anyone else actually want to talk about the Bears too?
  8. They've only done a handful of positions so far, but Middlebrooks made it to #6 on their list of 3rd base prospects, and Bogaerts made the #10 spot at shortstop. It will be interesting to see how many (if any) other Sox prospects will make their positions top 10 lists.
  9. I guess I never thought of that. If he does make it back early in the season, I was hoping to see a whole new Crawford from the one that we saw in 2011, but you're right that it may actually take him some time to get the strength and movement back in his wrist and be able to get back to his old form.
  10. I guess as an Aussie, I should be happy. However, I honestly can't stand Hewitt, and Roddick is my favorite player, so it kind of sucks for me. Either way though, I don't really care that much about tennis.
  11. I was a Red Wings fan as a kid, and I still kind of support them to an extent. It's going to be interesting to see how the team plays when Lidstrom is gone and guys like Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Bertuzzi, Holmstrom, Cleary, etc. continute to get older. They have some nice young talent with guys like Tatar, Smith, etc. but they will have to really become great players if they are going to keep the Wings near the top of the NHL.
  12. I'm not much of a tennis fan, but it's times like this (footy season over, no cricket on at the moment and crappy broadcasting of US sports) that I will watch it, just to get my sports fix. What happened with the Hewitt/Roddick matchup tonight? I only saw the first game before I had to get started on some homework.
  13. What you said regarding the Bears may have been 5 months ago, but they are STILL an NFL football team, and if I want to give my opinions on a thread or topic, I will. Who died and made you God?
  14. Yeah, that was the MLB.com store. Including shipping, it came to $200 total to get a $49.95 hoodie sent here. :thumbdown
  15. I just read the last half-dozen pages. Great reading guys, I really feel like I picked up a lot of useful info. Hopefully we sign another SP so that a lot of the negative people will stop complaining, and the sooner the season starts, the better. Maybe then we'll all be able to focus on baseball rather than whether nicknames are or are not insulting.
  16. God damnit!!! If we lose Ellsbury because of Crawford's contract, I'm going to be pissed as hell. If it happens, then Crawford better seriously improve his performance from last season.
  17. Are you referring to my post?
  18. Can someone help me out here? Someone said before that we were going to lose Ellsbury because of Crawford's contract. Is that true? If so, how?
  19. I'm also very interested to see how this kid develops. He's so young now that there is still so much uncertainty about how good he will become, but I really like his combination of size/athleticism/power. Someone mentioned him moving to 3rd when his body fully develops, but aren't we all banking on Middlebrooks to be the future 3rd baseman for us? I can see Middlebrooks becoming a quality player, so if Bogaerts ends up there, then it means that Middlebrook didn't pan out the way we hoped. Given the situation that we have now in the OF, I wouldn't mind seeing him converted into a corner OF spot as he matures. With him, Jacoby and a (hopefully) new Crawford, our OF would look ok to me. We would then also have Sweeney and Kalish as insurance as well.
  20. I don't know too much about the Sox prospects, so I had never heard of this kid before now, and of course Wikipedia picks now of all times to black-out their site for 24 hours. It sounds like he has gone through a lot of crap though. It's good that, from what I have read in the last page or two, that he is making a good recovery. Whether he plays at the MLB level or not, at least it seems that he will have a long and hopefully healthy life ahead of him.
  21. Crawford didn't exactly do anything to make me like him last season, and this just pisses me off even more. The guy has talent and I think (or is that hope?) that he can bounce back with a much better year in 2012, but as you said, why the hell did he wait until now to have surgery? The medical staff on this team really are useless.
