  1. Tough game! Roddick got injured though and retired after the 3rd set, he was down 2 sets to 1
  2. $150 shipping? Is that the MLB store? I found a site that supposedly sells MLB stuff and they ship stuff in in bulk ... http://www.footballfanatics.com/MLB_Boston_Red_Sox/browse/page/1/results/48/sort/TopSeller
  3. Does anyone follow tennis in the States? Looking like a good battle for both the Men's and Women's draws this year. Can't really pick a winner. Probably Djokovic & Kvitova ...
  4. Say what you will about him being untested in the MLB, etc. I'm glad he's not pitching in a team other than the Red Sox in the AL East. His stats are WAY better than Dice-K's were out of Japan, hard to see Darvish not putting up some good numbers during his tenure at the Rangers.
  5. Always hate to see sports stars get injured, but better someone else than us. So glad CC's surgery is much more minor. He never seemed to go through any injuries with the Rays! AL Central just got a whole lot tighter!!
  6. I was just planning my trip to the States and was going to ask a similar question. Great that there is already a thread here all about it!! So excited, I'm going to be crossing off something on my bucket list by watching a game a Fenway Park! Actually I'm probably going to watch 2 or 3 games, just so that my only experience isn't a loss. I hope we don't get swept haha.
  7. He's a great hitter. He might end up going on a one year like Madson? I don't like how unfit he looks, wouldn't mind his bat if he could play RF lol
  8. Oh and welcome! Great to see so many Aussies here
  9. Wouldn't mind seeing another lefty reliever in the pen. Otherwise looking strong, hopefully jenks can do something. Dice-k won't be back till the all star break, so hopefully can help out down the stretch if he is back to form. Lackey is gone for the season recovering from Tommy John surgery. Rotation is still a worry, will bard make a good starter? Who knows. I hope so! We have Aaron Cook now as well, who will fight for a spot in the rotation in Spring Training. Hopefully he can have a bounce back year and pitch 4th/5th for us. My biggest worry is how Bucholtz goes? And will he last? Our offense is done I believe. Sweeney to start, Darnell/aviles as the RH options. I like Scut, especially if he has another .299 year! iglesias is better defensively for sure and faster, but can't hit still...
  10. From Sydney, so Swannies naturally!
  11. Good to see you came around! People choose teams for many reasons, but there's no team like baseball in sports like the redsox. Do you follow AFL too?
  12. Are you referring to the fried chicken and beer? Or more the attitude. I thought Lester was involved in the eating and drinking as well .... Sadly.
  13. Agreed. It's obvious they are being tight on the purse strings, I'd definitely prefer more spent on pitching than offense right now. I'm ok with the offense, still feel very uneasy about pitching depth, who knows if Clay is going to last all season...
  14. Is Lester still considered #1 in the org, even after Beckett's impressive 2011? I think Beckett regained the ace tag during 2011, but who will should start on opening day in your opinion?
  15. So jealous of anyone that gets to go!!
  16. Haha not a lot at all. About the same as Lackey?
  17. What about Tazawa possibly? He was back in the minor leagues, not amazing, but probably someone that could make a spot start if need be hopefully. Can't be any worse than Miller or Weiland right? I think Aceves is far too critical as a long reliever to make him a starter. If we have a starter that is tanking, having Aceves pitch innings any of the 4/5/6/7 is such a valuable commodity. I don't think anyone else in our bullpen is capable of doing this well ...
  18. Maybe Madson will sign for less. I think the one year deal and wait is very likely, but he'll be under heaps of pressure to perform again (which isn't a bad thing) Can't see the Angels signing him for 10m though. And hard to see Scott Boras settling for less!
  19. Agree on Sweeney's power, but he hasn't had an OBP less than .342 over the last 4 seasons http://mlb.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=435220 2008-2010: I'd take those averages
  20. So assuming Pujols and Wilson's deals are both back loaded heavily, so they still have some room for a paycheck in 2012?
