not that it matters now, but i read a piece from ProJo that says the Sox only talked to Sveum first more because of how fast the Cubs were moving and not necessarily because he was the preferred choice, the piece states that this was according to Cherington, i guess my question is will this carry over to the choice of Valentine or Lamont?..

i hear ya, i was disturbed by how quickly he seemed to put back on weight before he got hurt...

kind of hard to believe Cherington and the FO seem to be split between Lamont and Valentine...well, maybe it does happen often, i just feel both parites should actually want the guy they plan to hiire...last thing you want is your manager smack in the middle of a GM-FO spat...i think you guys will be right there no matter who the skipper is...

Joba making progress??...Joba Chamberlain said Saturday that his recovery from Tommy John surgery is progressing on schedule. Chamberlain was operated on in June and has been throwing for a while now. He hopes to throw off a mound by spring training and is aiming to rejoin the Yankees bullpen early in the season.
