  1. What is up with the Scoreboard in KC. It has been wrong several times during this series and clearly the home plate ump does not trust it anymore.
  2. Lackey seems to be a bit more comfortable on the mound. Must have needed to loosen up that ankle.
  3. Well I think we gotta' get Shields outta' there to do anything. He has found his groove now.
  4. That pitch to Gordon was right where Ortiz and most LH hitters want the ball...meatball pitch
  5. Butler in utter disbelief that a Sox pitcher had the audacity to throw a pitch to him in under the hands, simply never takes the bat off his shoulder for strike 3.
  6. And it looks like Lackeys's ankle is worse than thought....terrific...just what we needed
  7. This is ridiculous. Sox as a team including the infielders need to get with it. Scouts are going to be sending memos all over the place as I am sure they have about the pitchers not pitching inside. None of the infielders are moving to even suggest a play is on. As soon as Lackey turns his head the runners are going...pathetic
  8. None of the Sox starters seem to care. Royals have been running wild and the Sox pitchers are hardly looking over, never mind throwing over. Between not pitching inside (at least Lackey is trying to keep these guys from owning home plate) and not holding runners, there seems to be some pretty basic pitching fundamentals that the Sox pitchers just don't care about. Maybe what progress, Lester and Buch made early is more due to Lester and Buch and has less to do with Nieves and Farrell. There are some pretty big holes in the staff skill set and it has started to show in crunch time, post ASB. Since it is staff-wide it is hard to blame the individual pitchers.
  9. Naps might well K four times today
  10. For crying out loud....another guy steals without the Sox pitcher even looking over
  11. Be interesting to see how Lackey goes after the Royals. Farrell indicating again in pre-game that he realizes the Royals are just all over home plate. Butler has just had complete distain for Sox pitching. Lets see of Mr. Lackey can do better.
  12. In truth, as a Sox fan you gotta' want it to be the final verdict because if it is, it means Will is hitting again. As I said earlier XB is the SS of the future here. That is written in stone. Will's future is much less certain. I am totally good with XB not coming up until the call ups as that will mean Will is hitting again.
  13. Correct...I said so earlier...he had no choice IMO tonight. But that is how Managers eventually get caught with a guy that has the fuel tank go empty on him right out there on the mound like it did for Paps in 2011.
  14. Now we gotta' find a way to beat s*** head Shields and we escape 2-2. I will take it and have my bags packed to get the hell outta' here!
  15. I don't think Taz can go many of these 20 pitch stints though. Farrell is getting addicted to using him two innings at a time and he is going to paint himself into a corner sooner or later. In fact he already did paint himself into a corner with Taz before the ASB and that is my real problem. Once a guy has flamed out once in a season, he can regain some energy but the next time around in the same season he will flame out much faster and often very suddenly.
  16. Lackey discussing the weather with the vacationing Bucholtz
  17. Britton f***ed Farrell right in the ass just when he was gaining some confidence in him. Workman is suffering from youth, jitters and brain lock. DLR just got through kindergarden and is trying to get through the first grade of ML pitching. Tough spot for Farrell right now.
  18. Taz and Ueh are not going to make it through the reg season doing this though. I guess Farrell has not choice right now but these guys are going to flame out. Farrell might get away with this by the skin of his teeth
  19. Who is left out there? Britton, DLR? Not sure I am ready to trust Britton again against these guys. Maybe start with Taz and bring Britton if Taz struggles, like gets a base runner. Not sure I can go with DLR in a game I have to have.
  20. Why am I not surprised
  21. Here comes Butler...the biggest offender...no respect at all for the Sox pitchers...lets see what Taz does with him.
  22. you mean to tell me that Nava is faster than Carp! Holy s***....Carp must start for second on Monday and arrive on Wednesday.
  23. f***, if this were the 8th inning I might feel good about this. I will be very surprised if 5 runs is enough.
  24. Wonder if Vic is on the way to completely abandoning switch hitting.
  25. Good boy Bres......
