  1. NO NO...the new plan is to save Ueh just in case Farrell needs him to close a one game play in from the WC!
  2. Yea but Albert was just coming out of a walking boot right. So he was more or less touch and go. I will have to do a search. I thought they lost somebody else as well.
  3. f*** the more we trounce these guys today the more I hate having lost last night. Rays have a bunch of LAA on their schedule coming up. Did LAA suffer another big injury last couple weeks?
  4. Ya' gotta' wonder seeing this game by Felix combined with Lester's game if part of the reason Peavy was so ....well peeved was because he knew this team was not really raking on him and he felt that he could have gone longer. SF did nothing against Lester....doing next to nothing today and really had not done all that much against Peavy.
  5. defense....we have enough runs.........I hope!
  6. Zito is such a junk baller now....even more so than usual that I really don't think it matters what side of the plate you hit from. Either you are patient enough to time and hit his junk or you are not. You have to stay off the crap that is headed off the plate as well as there is plenty of that from Zito.
  7. Last 10 games Ortiz is batting .238 with an .857 OPS. He is usually over or at .300 for a batting average and close to 1.000 for an OPS. Much of that is not giving him much of anything to hit. Hasn't been any reason to give him anything to hit.
  8. This is more like it. This bum has nothing.
  9. Man Ortiz is just jumping at pitches lately...lunging at them.
  10. That was a heck of a job by Pedey. Even though Zito is throwing all junk, that was a tough pitch to hit. If I had to hit that pitch last time I actually played organized baseball, I would have swung three times at that before the ball hit the catcher's mitt.
  11. If Will can keep it up I will surely feel much better about this offense. It is really a struggle from the right side lately. As much as I dislike some of Farrell's decisions one thing I have been recently considering is the possibility that they realized Farrell had not lit up the managing world in Toronto but that this team was designed to carry the Sox over 2013. Presuming that is what they thought of the team (and no reason to suspect they thought otherwise), maybe they thought that Farrell would have a year or two to grow into the job.
  12. Watch for the dif day vs night in this park. Balls will fly out today
  13. Nice charge into that one Will. He is in much better shape having trouble laying off of pitches riding in under his hands than he was when he could not lay off of the pitches running outside and low. If the pitcher trying to get in under his hands misses, it is right in Will's wheelhouse. If the pitcher running the ball low and outside misses it is just lower or farther outside and there is nothing Will can do with that. This is a way better spot for Will to be in and everybody not named Cabrera has some weakness or another.
  14. I refuse to believe this dick Zito is going to dominate us in this game. So we should score and should be able to control their offensive output.
  15. Farrell claims that the reason he did not bring Ueh instead of Vellareal last night was because he had double switched and the pitchers spot was coming up the next inning if there was a next inning. Fine, if that is the case, then you are f***ed. Either you take your chances with Frankie, bring in somebody other than Vellareal or bring in Ueh for the one out and take your chances with somebody else later on. But bringing in Vellareal there made no sense and if I felt I was stuck with even Frankle vs Vellareal, I would have stayed with Frankie. More importantly, Ferrell boxed himself into this corner by using Workman the night before in a 7-1 game. So no matter how you slice it, the way Ferrell is using the pen has been and is deadly. In my view, Farrell plans out his everyday players and his pen for a game and does not deviate from the plan. If he has planned to use Workman the night before, did not matter that he was up 7-1. Workman was commin' in. Farrell IMO simply does not react well to in game situations. In fact I don't think he reacts to them at all. He builds a plan before the game even starts and sticks to it come hell or high water. Frankly boxed like that with the pen...Farrell's only real choice was to have gotten one more inning out of Peavy! Did you read Peavy's lips coming out last night "you have got to be f***ing kidding me". Why by the way was Drew not bunting when he came up late with Ross on second and no outs? That 3rd run would have very likely sealed the game away. I hate giving up outs early in games. But late like that you have to get that guy home...you have to and if you have to give up outs to do it....fine.
  16. Yea, I was going to post about Ortiz in my post....thought I had piled on enough. But in truth they knew Zito was going to start today before last night's game. That switch had been made. Should have had Ortiz and Drew in last night's game and rested Ortiz and Drew today using XB at SS and probably Naps at 1st
  17. We seem to be assuming and even banking on Buch coming back as he was when he went down. I think that is the least likely of events. He will surely improve the rotation. I do think chances are pretty slim that he comes back for the 2013.5 season as he was when he left the 2013 season.
  18. Using Workman on Monday night was a very bad move and contributed to painting Farrell in the box he was in last night. Not saying the Yankees will come back...just saying it is not the same as the Toronto situation from earlier in the year. The team situations are not the same and the time of year is entirely different. I will say it again...nothing early in the year compares to coming down the stretch at crunch time. Not the same thing at all.
  19. May is not August. You have to expect many more tight tense games in crunch time. Don't trust the way Farrell uses the pen especially confronted by what will be and already is many tight tense games.
  20. Well it is a little different SFF. This yankee squad now has a white hot Soriano and a revitalized Aroid to go with Karoda pitching like an ace. The Toronto squad was the same bunch of losers only on a hot streak.
  21. There is no way that XB is the next Pedey defensively. But he could be offensively.
  22. While we have some players that seem to come up with the goods late in games, particularly at the plate, Farrell makes some very odd moves especially with the way he plans out the end of games and the use of his relief pitchers. Instead of testing a guy before putting him in position to lose a game on the spot, he tosses a guy out there on what appears to be not more than blind faith. He did it with Bailey earlier in the year when Bailey was clearly struggling and cost us games and he did it with Villareal last night. I can live with going with Frankie all the way up to the point that he did. That said, people were commenting during the first game in SF that Farrell was using Workman in such a way that would result in facing some limitations the next night and sure enough!!!!!! I guess Frankie did deserve the shot to get out of that jam. But once he decided to pull him coming with Villareal is just craziness. Can't just put the game in his hands like that. Gotta' give yourself the best chance you have to get out of that jam because one run there and the game is lost. You have to give yourself the best shot to get out of that jam, score enough runs to give yourself a gap or even one run in the next half inning. That meant Ueh for Frankie like it or not. Farrell has not been reluctant to use Ueh over a half inning sit in the dugout in seemingly far less critical situations. If he did not have anybody else that he could use there then he had to use Ueh. The idea that you save Ueh for a hoped for save situation hoping somebody that has been wild this entire season and has not as yet thrown one pitch for you is going to get you out of the bases loaded situation in extras is just ass backwards. To me the tweak is Farrell. The season just does not flow along like August is the same as May. We were destined for more tight tense games coming down the stretch and IMO Farrell has got to stop playing the game that he might be confronted with an inning from now and has to start playing the game that is right in front of him. Farrell says after the game that he was saving Ueh for a potential save with that usual straight face of his!!! You have got to be kidding me. Worse, Farrell plays it this way all the time and it is so ass backwards. Extra's are not his strong suit though he seems to have some everyday players that can come up big in big moments in Extras.
  23. What is next Farrell? Are we going to start games with our relief pitchers so we can save our starters for the later innings? This is seriously getting ridiculous with him. Ya' gotta put yourself in position to win the game and you have to use the best you have to get there and THEN hope somebody pitches or plays over his head to preserve your win. You can't put some dick head out there with the game on the line, saving your best if the dick head survives. Stupid ....ass backwards ********!
  24. And this is exactly the s*** I was talking about in the earlier post. Ya' gotta' get out from under the other team before you can save the game you f***ing idiot. I am getting sick and tired of seeing that sad sack look on Farrell's face after each of these tough losses as well...you know...that "well I tried every thing I could try" look....yes you did try Farrell in your usual ass backwards manner.
  25. This team is not in a good place right now. Not at all sure what the hell Farrell is doing but he is not to me managing like every game is important and witness Dempster the other night, they are not playing like every game is important. As the Nationals are finding out, once you get into position to win, it does not matter if you did not expect to be there. You need to play LIKE YOU ARE THERE. Farrell was a rookie manager not too long ago and he looks more like a rookie manager every day.
