As ugly as this is, this game could actually get uglier.

ERod does not have the mental capacity to recover. He does not even know to think about a recovery. ERod pitches one pitch at a time. He always did and I think he always will. Each pitch is an identifiable entity all its own to ERod. So if he cannot even sequence during a game, how is he supposed to consider the concept of recovering from a bad start and think from one game to the next? Now ERod would likely rationalize that "Ah ya' gotta' forget the bad ones and move on".

On the bright side I was in the other room making my traditional "ERod is pitching triple bourbon on the rocks" when ERod gave it up.

That bobble in RF was a direct result of the two of them almost coming together out there in Seattle. Mookie has got to figure this out. Mookie is the MVP but JBJ is the CFer. Its JBJ's ball if he can get there. Mookie has to be looking for JBJ, not the other way round.

Here is the ERod we know and love. BB followed by dinger. Goes from 14 pitches through 1 to 50 pitches with 1 out in the 3rd and back to square 1......SO FAR!

A 14 pitch inning from ERod.....Saint's be praised!!! Somebody package up that video and force ERod to watch it in his sleep.

If Vaz is never ever going to get his hands inside the baseball (and he has not ever yet) then he has to go back to hitting the opposite way. He is going to be 0 for the season at this rate.

Thats good because other than Price not a one of our starters seem to be able to very often.

One thing I can say for Nat's effort tonight. I saw more nervous feet in the batter's box when the A's were hitting than I have seen in any other bunch of hitters facing a Sox starter so far this year. Could almost see the A's hitters asking Swi "hey, does this guy have any idea where these are going?" Swi answers...."I would not get too comfortable if I were you".

Sox Management asking Oakland Management if they can take 3rd Base Bag back to Fenway for an Honorable mention on Ring Day. Plans are for a video honoring 3rd Base Bag for heroic effort. Hey lets face it....Kennedy will never ignore an opportunity for a PR Blitz.

Nat is so wild i think it is helping him. I am stunned he is even surviving pitching behind almost every batter.

I remember last night you and I were talking about Sale beginning to land that slider and that he would at least have that if he continued to land it. These guys all have to have something that is working even if its just one thing. They might have to change their whole sequence around that one pitch they can land but at least it can be done.

I don't know about you guys ...but I enjoyed the game much more when at a 3-2 count men on, the pitcher just reared back and said f*** you, hit it if you can. I have real trouble with this slider off the plate nonsense hoping the guy chases in that same situation even when it works.

Took the words out of my mouth. We suck right now but we know its a better team than this. Sort of have to try to find some enjoyment in what is basically a keystone kops routine so far this year. But we do positively suck ass all over the place right now.
