  1. Hard to tell. These guys are throwing a lotta' baseball with no days off. That worries more than anything else as each in turn is likely to turn into a pumpkin.
  2. Moving off the plate just a little bit has made that inside out swing that Vaz has that much more effective. Almost like he has made the middle of the plate where the outer half used to be. He is really doing a job lately. Of course he can't reach the outer black like that. But that seems like a working trade off.
  3. Best bunt we have seen from them all this year....on the turf no less
  4. Oh God...here comes JBJ
  5. Even though that was just a bloop, that was a better swing from Rafi
  6. Nice play by Rafi there. Maybe Rafi will always play better on the road since most road team dugouts are on the 3rd base side. Pedey and coaches can yell at him from the bench: - get up off your heels - get into an athletic position - move your damned feet
  7. Geezus....JBJ was swinging before strike 3 left the pitcher's hand.
  8. Well that pitch sucked!
  9. See what Rafi is doing in that swing? He is dropping into his swing, which he always does but then he has this hitch now after he drops the front shoulder. If you are going to trigger your swing with a hitch you have to do it before you drop or you are just never going to catch up. It almost looks like he has gotten frustrated with not showing much power so far this year and is reaching back for some extra muscle.
  10. I don't remember Rafi crashing into anything this year though how would we really know. The crack NESN broadcast team is not going to say anything and Sox management isn't going to say anything unless they put a player on the IL. Could have crashed into something. Watching Rafi play reminds me of my kids favorite cartoon character when they were young.....Scooby-Doo. Scooby would do something stupid and then look dumbfounded like he could not figure out that it was not a coincidence. Instead Scooby had once again dropped himself into the soup. New cartoon series....."The baseball adventures of Rafi and Scooby-doo". RUT-ROW!!!
  11. All I can make out is that hitch he has developed is making him late to the hitting zone and he is trying to catch up after that. You are never going to catch up. So if you know you are late to the hitting zone you have to deal with what is making you late as opposed to thinking you are going to catch up. He needs to get rid of that hitch as I have no idea where that came from.
  12. Price can't really get the RH hitters out today. Just grooving too many pitches to them and walking the rest.
  13. I guess we now know why Chavis is a 3rd baseman if we didn't know before.
  14. 1. Andrew Benintendi (L) LF 2. Mookie Betts ® RF 3. Mitch Moreland (L) 1B 4. J.D. Martinez ® DH 5. Xander Bogaerts ® SS 6. Rafael Devers (L) 3B 7. Michael Chavis ® 2B 8. 15. Heck JBJ is worth keeping just for what is now the "ANNUAL" JBJ thread!
  16. If anything it looks like Vaz's release is quicker than it was. He had a cannon before he hurt his arm. The cannon is back again and his release is better IMO.
  17. That was about as pitiful an effort by Lin as I have seen in awhile.
  18. Notice the vaunted NESN broadcast team has said NOTHING about X lounging in the batter's box. Sgt Schultz's of baseball broadcasting. "I see NOTHING"
  19. Honestly I can barely tolerate any more of it. Somebody gets caught loafing from the batter's box or base path every game now. This from a 7-13 team. If Cora has not tossed the buffet table yet, this would be a good time if they win tonight. I would be reluctant to do it if they lose. But they are playing like s***!
  20. And there it is.....X simply admiring the ball from the batter's box. These guys have been caught lounging in the batter's box, lounging on the base paths all season so far....ALL OF THEM.
  21. I am convinced that if the game were not close somebody would have been run by Timmons by now.
  22. He might just be getting to the age where "old man gravelly voice" sets in.
  23. Boy was that tattooed.
  24. This surface as it ages is looking more and more like the old Royals artificial surface. The ball just does not slow down the way you expect it to as it bounds out to the wall. Would hate to see how that OF would play if wet.
