It should be. But this is the box the rotation has put Cora in all season long with a few notable exceptions. IMO, he will be out for the 6th on a Cora wing and a prayer.
He had some velo tonight. But you just cannot keep throwing FB after FB and telegraph that you are going to keep doing it. His Slider has been more of a problem tonight. Can't throw it for any sort of a strike and now they are climbing on that thing too when its close to the plate. Sale has got to be outta' here when the big guns come up again.
It has become much harder to pitch around hitters when the guy behind him just has to flick out the barrel of the bat to go second deck to the opposite field.
Moving just a couple inches off the plate is putting pitches that used to get in on his hands out over the plate and he simply does not try to do anymore than hit it where its pitched. The combination has really been something for him.
I can't believe Vaz is calling for all these FB's without some discussion with Sale in the dugout. This is an insane number of FB's for Sale to be throwing...far too many for this to just be Vaz unilaterally.
I am guessing that Vaz has proved it to the Sox Manager and Cora figures this is as good a game as any to give Vaz the nod with Sale. They need Vaz'a bat as there are really only three guys in the lineup hitting all this breaking nonsense well and he is one of them.
I use baseballpress specifically because I can get both lineups and because they post both the positions played by each player and whether they are (S), (L) or ® handed hitters.
If its not showing for you just search "MLB lineups today". It will surely be on page one of the query response.
I just looked...I usually post both lineups when I post them which is not to suggest somebody else can't do it. But I just looked. Our lineup is up. Same as last night.
