  1. Tampa Bay won't suck, their pitching is too good. We need to step it up somehow. We also need to find ways to score 14 runs on nights when Lester is not pitching.
  2. Just some outside the box thinking here, but considering Lackey does have the highest ERA in franchise history (!), do you think perhaps we send him to the bullpen next year? Before you all jump on me and say it's a terrible idea, let me just say I know it's probably not happening and I'm just opening some discussion, but think about it. We're stuck with him for three more years, he makes too much and plays too poor for any team to take him off our hands, and he's obviously not working out as a starter. I'm not saying give him the closer's job, but really, what would we have to lose if we ease him into the role? It's a gamble and maybe it will pay off. Can't be any worse than what he's giving us now. OK, just some food for thought, and it scares me we have to trot this guy out there for three more years as a starter. Preferably, I just wish he'd visit Bartolo Colon's doctor instead.
  3. Agree. Guys don't always execute, but on paper it's the right move. Makes a hell of a lot more sense than leaving Bard in to face Bautista the other night and not putting in Paps.
  4. Whether it works we'll have to see, but on paper, I like Tito going with Aceves here now that we tied the game. Weiland's too inexperienced, we need somebody more trustworthy. I'm not usually a fan of Tito's bullpen moves, but this makes sense. Let's hope it works. Edit: Uh, nevermind. This team needs to stop the bleeding, this is getting painful.
  5. Something tells me we'll finally see the Rays bullpen today. It's been a while.
  6. Well.....that'll do! Tied at 3.
  7. Weiland's been battling and so far has kept us in the game. Can't really ask for more from a kid making his 3rd start. Unfortunately, Hellickson, and all these Rays pitchers, are tough, but hopefully we'll come back today. We could really use a win now.
