Alright let’s go!!!

Last year I believe we had a top three offense.... didn't seem to matter, we were awful. If you don't have good pitching you just won't be that good period no matter how good of an offense you have. We still have a top 5 offense (although the second half we haven't exactly been lighting up the score board) but it just won't be enough unless this rotation can win. Right now: Richards, Pivetta, Perez can barely go 5 and they seem to give up at least 4 runs or more a game.... You just simply can't win with that kind of pitching. Porcello did this and everyone (except me) wanted him off the team.... Now we basically have 4 Porcellos including E-Rod. I hope to hell this pitching rotation gets it together and fast, because if we don't this is just going to be the norm right to the end of the season.

Anyone who thinks we haven't over achieved is either on meth or just flat out mental. We have most certainly over achieved.... Doesn't mean it doesn't suck that we are coming back down to Earth and coughing up what was a nice season regardless if anyone expected it or not.

Also, some on here seem to think it's only a red sox thing to criticize the team when they suck..... You guys should go have a look at the Dodgers board before they got it going lmao.... they are MUCH worse than this board.... At least we are realistic. The pitching is complete s***, and that won't change until we make some moves. The rotation as it currently sits, is complete dog s*** outside of Nate.....That isn't being a downer, that is being a person of fact. Honestly, it's amazing that we are in a playoffspot with the pitching the way it is. Look at the teams that are currently in a playoff spot and where they sit with pitching Dodgers 1 Giants 2 Padres 4 Rays 6 White Sox 7 Astros 9 Oakland 10 Again.... It's astonishing that a team like Boston who has less than average pitching is even in a playoff spot at all.... So for some of us fans to assume we won't climb out of this train wreck of a second half season.... it isn't that hard to believe..... Not many teams make the playoffs (even a wildcard) with below average pitching no matter how good the offense is.

2018 we had much better pitching. As I said in a previous post, if we had Sale (like how Sale was in 2018) and Scherzer I would feel much more confident.....Hell even 2018 E Rod. He is just not himself this year.... I am not saying he won't ever return to form, but this year it hasn't been pretty for him. Other than Nate, I really don't trust anyone on the rotation ESPECIALLY Richards to get a win anymore. E Rod is up today with an ERA of 5.60 against a pitcher who has an ERA of 3.41.... Once again I am not liking our chances. I am not trying to be doom and gloom here, the numbers speak for themself. I will be the first one here eating crow if the Sox go on a 7 or 8 game winning streak.... But they have shown nothing in the last 6 games against Tampa that they can hang with them (which is why we are 1-5 against them since the first series of the season where we swept them)

Here I thought I was being patient lol. Dropping out of first in the division was kind of my breaking point...... Well, I shall give it a while longer then. After all, we do have Tampa coming up again (since sweeping them we are 1-5 against them) We lose that series..... We are in a world of hurt.

I think the biggest thing with me is if you have a very talented team and go through a rough patch.... You just expected you will get out of it like the Dodgers and Padres earlier this year..... The sox although have a good offense, the pitching is atrocious. This is the team I expected. Richards still can't go 5 innings, Pivetta has not been good at all lately, E Rod is inconsistent and Perez is Perez....... The only game I am confident that we can win is when Nate pitches, and we even blew that. If we had a prime Sale back, and signed Scherzer then maybe I wouldn't be in such a panic. Those are guys that can rebound. But, does anyone honestly think guys like Richards will get it together? He needs to be off the team, and Perez is no better.... Perez gets a bit of a pass because he is our 5th guy. Pivetta started the season good, so I am holding hope he can return to that. As it stands right now we have something like the bottom 9 rotation in the entire league. You just aren't going to win many games with pitching like that. It is what it is.

Let me guess, you're one of those "Way to go guys, we really tried and I am proud of the season even though we sucked down the stretch" type fans. Yuck. I call it the way I see it.... I didn't say the season is over, I said we are on life support which we are. We are now out of first place in the division, and the Yankees are 5 games behind us. If this keeps up we will be out of a wildcard spot. That is a FACT! Sorry, I will speak your language..... WOOOOO HOOOOOOO GO SOX GUYS! I am proud of the heart this team has showed during this stretch of suckage. They are really trying and let's just be proud of them. Remember, we get awards for participation!

Agreed! I am glad we are almost done with the Yankees..... they are getting hot, and we got them early on..... But we definitely are out matched against Tampa.

You’re right. We have lost 7 of our last 10 and 5 straight. One being to trash Detroit….. Whoop whoop. Have faith folks. We are super duper!! Not sure what you want? Fans are realistic. This team absolutely blows right now and are now out of first in the division. I get being optimistic, and wanting this team to turn it around but there is also realism. This team has been atrocious lately and the last two games haven’t even been fun to watch. We are now in a wild card spot with the Yankees just a handful of games behind us…. Again that is just being realistic. We are allowed to praise the team when they are playing good and we damn sure are allowed to say when the team blows chunks which right now they do. All I am saying, if they keep this up for another week and lose against Toronto and Tampa again we won’t even be in a playoff spot. This team also has shown nothing lately that they are turning this around. They look dead….. hopefully they turn it around, they have so all season so I’m not giving up yet but this is the ugliest stretch they have had all season and it’s coming at a terrible time against division opponents

I think you quoted the wrong guy. And I’m not sure. I never pay attention to who and who doesn’t watch something. I’ve found it very entertaining. I only watch certain events. The Judo this year was absolutely fantastic. I like the racing too….. it’s a nice change from the regular sports we watch every day. I don’t watch the baseball, golf or basketball in the olympics at all

Cool story. . I enjoy the olympics. Tae Kwon Do was fantastic (but I love Tae Kwon Do) Judo was awesome. I like a lot of the events.

I just said this to my spouse. I love the Sox but they are boring lately….. I am damn near ready to switch to the olympics. This is just getting depressing. Can’t even beat a scrub team like Detroit.
