Not missing the point at all. I agree with you that Sale is just not very good this year. It is absolutely frustrating, but wanting a trade is just plain dumb. He is capable of playing very good as we saw his two starts before this. Does anyone have Sales stats the last two years against the Yankees? I don’t think they are that great so I’m not overly surprised he didn’t play great. He has another start against them coming up maybe he can redeem himself.

Ya I have noticed that trend lately with the Sox. I would say it's almost like they take their foot off the gas but last night the offense produced 6 runs. Last night was on Sale and the many mistakes the defense made. Offensively we were good enough, but the rest of the game was pretty awful.

Definitely We needed to take both series and we did. It sucks that we started the season so slow because it feels like winning 5 of 7 against Tampa and the Yankees isn't good enough when really it is. That slow start could hurt us more than we think. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Damn Oakland just keeps winning.

He looked fantastic against the Jays, and looked good against Tampa (granted he threw a lot of pitches) he still went 6 and gave up just the 2 runs. Then he struggles against one of the best offenses in the league and it got to his head so his command started to come undone, see how he does his next start.

And he is still getting a lot of strike outs..... Whether they are "absolute rockets" or not he has still had some very quality starts this year. It's a different Chris Sale than what we are used to, he isn't relying on the super fastball that he once had and guess what.... He doesn't need to because he has a lot of good pitches that work outside of that. His fastball actually was pretty solid last night. his breaking and slider were the ugly ones. It all falls under a bad season. But it's natural for fans to freak out and say "he is past his prime" I had to listen to the same f***ing ******** on the Colts board when Luck wasn't very good in 2016 and then missed the entire 2017 season. When the Colts started 1-5 90 percent of the board wanted ?Luck traded, then they finished 10-6 and Luck is a hero again. Same will be with Sale. If he does this again next season I will be right back here agreeing that something needs to be done but not from ONE bad season. In which isn't even a horrible season. Just not Chris Sale like.

The trouble is now that every bad start he has will be magnified. 2 quality starts before this and not much was said, but not a great game against the number 2 offense in baseball and some want him gone lmao. Comical. Chris Sale statistically has never done that well against the yankees (if I recall, going off my head here) so last night wasn't super unusual.

Glad the Patriots didn't give up on Tom Brady after the 05 season where he had a bit of a down year. Chris Sale was very good his last 2 starts coming into lastnight and we knew the Yankees would bring everything they had to the table as it's nearly impossible to sweep a team that good. It's not like Chris Sale has an ERA of 5.50 or something. Coming into last night it just was a shade over 3.99. Has he been good this year?? No he hasn't but that doesn't mean you get rid of him. I wonder if Detroit fans thought this about Verlander in 2014 when he had an ERA of 4.65 or something. Calm down people, Sale will be fine. He has had some very good starts this year and some very bad starts. He will work his ass off to be better next season.

I like that the bats showed some fight. 6 runs normally with your ace is enough to win a game. Had Sale given us the performance of his last 2 starts this is a win. Simple as that. But unfortunately Sale gave us what he has given us most of the year.... dog s***. It is what it is. I don’t expect a good start from Sale anymore this season. If he gives us a good start like he did against Toronto and Tampa then that’s awesome but I don’t expect it. End of the day we played 7 games and went 5-2 against Tampa and New York. Can’t ask for a much better result. Keep it going boys and don’t take your foot off the gas. Oakland and Tampa are still in front of us. We have Tampa at home tomorrow. Obviously we need to win this series.

He has simply sucked against the top teams. Simple as that. Any decent offense makes him look like a joke. It is what it is. He was a fail again tonight. When was the last quality start he had against the Yankees?
