  1. Great end, managed to get in and catch the last innings! Looking good so far
  2. Wouldn't worry about that. They just f***ed LFC over today too.
  3. I'll say this though, he looks like it is hurting him right now and the boos are the last thing he needs. At least he looks like he gives a toss. The boos shouuld be for the ones who left him out there despite all signs pointing towards the probability that what happened is what was going to happen.
  4. I'll refer to my last post on the matter.
  5. When you have a pitcher so obviously low on confidence who gets easily smashed over the wall first pitch, you know things are going to go badly from there on in. I'd have been right out there and then talking to him telling him to start again etc etc, and if things were still going badly then I'd replace him. When someone is so fragile mentally, it doesn't just come back in game when things start so badly.
  6. If we hadn't been so s*** in the past two games, that first pitch home run would be funny. Pie throwing again.
  7. That's pretty much what I thought but presented in a more technical way. A top pitching rotation will mean that generally you need less runs to win games. A below average one means you will generally need to score more. So if you were to have one or the other then it would be pitching he sets the tone as to what the batting order needs to do to win the game. Ideally an above average ERA across the whole pitching rotation and a productive run output will mean you will win more than you lose.
  8. Enjoy the game gents. A bit late for me as I am working tomorrow. Let's not give them a 4 or 5 run headstart this time though eh boys! Nigh all.
  9. Christ he's fast with those pick offs! Quite like him as a pitcher. Today just one of those.
  10. Key moment was the 'losing the ball in the sun'. Which as an excuse I dont buy at all. It was just s***. But that cost em.
  11. You knew he was off when he came back out. It was just a question of where. Great game for him to leave on too
  12. Cody Ross immense. Big thing is now to a few week ago is we are driving in the guys on base.
  13. f***ing toss. That was painful.
  14. I'll be honest with you, your small change will make very little difference to JH right now. I know many of you aren't familiar with English Soccer, but Liverpool FC are my team over here. The new TV deal for domestic braodcast rights from 2013-2016 for live games has just sold for a little under 5 billion dollars. That's a 70% increase on the last deal and gives clubs an extra 50 million dollars a year. As I say this is just domestic rights, the overseas rights and domestic higlights packages have yet to be auctioned. If JH can get LFC back into the Champions League than that will be worth an extra 50 million dollars at least per each season they are in it. There is mega money in soccer, though many here may not know it. That is why FSG appear to be spending a lot of time on LFC. But there is also factoring in the state the club was in when they bought it. It was a right mess and 2 hours from going bust due to the previous ownership. However as an LFC fan we think that they spend as much time on the Red Sox as they do LFC. And again, in sacking the biggest LFC icon there is from the manager position (Kenny Dalglish) we know they aren't afraid of making the right decisions if they are needed. If the Red Sox under perform as they are right now for the rest of the season then I'm sure they will do what is neccessary. Anyway, that was slightly off the opening topic. I hope the OP enjoys the game. I'm hoping to get myself there next season. Right now the panoramic print of Fenway that I got for fathers day will have to suffice along with MLB.tv!
  15. Agreed. Still think the pitching needs addressing though. The firepower in the batting line up is there. Just not sure the pitching can do it consistantly.
  16. It's not what you say, but how you say it that makes you sound like a tool. You always replace people names with something that attempts (but fails) to be derogatory. You make yourself come across as someone who actually enjoys the losses. Maybe you do, but I actually think that it's your wierd coping mechanism in that to try to get over a loss you deride everyone and everything on here and to do with the team. It's s*** that we lost again. It's s*** that it is the same problems again. It's s*** Aceves cant even save one innings never mind a game when it matters. We are all pissed of at it, but to come in here and pretend to revel in it to make up for you own disappointment isn't what these forums are about.
  17. Gonna watch this on my iPad whilst playing the show 12 badly
  18. I don't ever want my teams to lose, but this happened to my footy team too. I got to the point where a loss become acceptable because you felt at it may make the decision makers address the problems. To use a cricket phrase, the Red Sox pitchers are 'throwing pies' and that has been a problem for a while now. Even last season it was but we had the firepower to get us out of I as well as JP to shut up shop when needed. But the September slump should have been a warning sign. Top level management took the fall, but the on field issues weren't fully addressed.
  19. Thought I was going mad there! I thought it was the Nationals tonight! More of the same from last night please.
