Dont think your giving enough credit to FSG & Mr John Henry there mate. Essentially LFC told Chelsea that whatever Carroll cost they would have to pay for Torres + 15 million. So NUFC held out for 35 Million, we likewise held out for 50 Million from Chelsea. If NUFC had asked for 30 we would have ased for 45 etc. The Suarez deal was going to be done in any case. The fact that we sold Babel for 6.5 Million meant we only piad out a few million for potentially one of the best forward lines we have seen for some years. We also kept within the new FFP rules that will come into force this year. I still think there is around 20 - 30 million in the pot for new players, assuming that the interest payments on the debt were 30 milion last year. Which all in all leaves us in a very strong position if we can start next season off with a couple more new faces and the King still manager.

Hi all, Yes yet another Liverpool Football Club fan here. I have followed sports in the USA from afar since about 93/94 when I did some exchange work with your military in Florida (I am ex British Army). I mainly got into basketball and NFL but have latterly started to take an interest in the Red Sox for the obvious reasons that we are now part of the organization. I have to say I have bee extremely impressed with the owners and having looked at the way they turned the sox around am hoping for the same for my first love, LFC. So far so good. The Sox, well I am truly impressed with all I have seen so far, and by that I mean the fans; you all seem to be as passionate and dedicated as we are. I am planning a trip over in May 14 – 20th and hope to take in at least one game So be gentle and when I ask a stupid question, just tell me:)
